Hi all i'm basically thinking of getting back into playing in a band, used to play pubs and clubs all over the Midlands in the 90's but haven't played in a band since 2006 now, just wondering if someone can point me in the direction of a place (if this isn't it) where local musicians can meet, things have moved on from an advert in the local paper.....

These forums are not used much for that, but many people will browse the profiles, so get some music posted on your profile, some details on what you are looking for and a way to contact you (you need to hide your email adress like imadoof AT yaboo DOT com) as most people do not pay for premium service and hence cannot contact you otherwise.

Hey Ricky,
the advice above about making sure your contact details are on your profile and you have some sound files up is good - i had a profile up here for six months without a sniff, didn't realise it was because only premium members can actually contact you through the site... Since then, i've had a couple of contacts.
www.joinmyband.co.uk is a good place to look/advertise as well.
