We learned "Freewill" last night, the first Rush song I've ever played in a band. The first run through was rough but we came pretty close to nailing it the second time. This band continues to impress me with the variety of music we're doing. I can't wait to start gigging.

that's pretty cool. The part of that song that amazes me the most is that the guitar solo is really a duet with the bass also doing a solo.. the bass line is so well-thought-out that you don't even realize it until you pay attention to the it.

I've only known maybe one or two bassists in my lifetime that could pull off that song (note for note).. if yours can, then you do indeed have an amazing band going there 8)

Thats awesome Jimmy! Sounds like you guys are getting close to being able to gig. We play "Closer To The Heart". Last night we rehearsed and learned Trippin On A Hole In A Paper Heart by STP, Lonely Is The Night by Billy Squire, Crossfire by SRV, and Kiss by Prince. The only time we rehearse is when we learn new songs.

...Kramer is very observant and your Band sounds like it is very good. You must post something when you can as it sounds to have good potential ... you have certain standards so if you are excited this is an indication that bodes well. In the early 70's I was living in Toronto and my Band at that time ( a cover band) was rehearsing at a place in Willowdale ( a suburb od Toronto) and "early Rush was also practicing there. We used to take breaks together at times. Nice and talented individuals ... everyone poked fun at Geddy's voice and the way his Mother pronounced his name (Gary). This was post-Hadrian. Interesting as one never knows who they are meeting often times.

KG: Yeah Paul is a hell of a bassist, he studies his parts and learns all the little things that make the song great.

Jeff: You guys do a cool variety too, I think that's essential when doing a cover band.

Vampier: I had a Rush story, I went to Toronto back in the 70's and was walking down Younge Street shopping the record stores and I saw all of these young people streaming down the street. I asked them where they were going and they screamed "Rush!". A couple of hours later I saw the crowd coming the other way and people said the concert was fantastic. Missed that one.

Yeah The Farley's active season is January through October or November, we always take the month of December off. Too many parties, etc.

Used to be pretty much the same for us. ( different reasons probably )

This year, we just keep getting contacts and booking shows.
Doing a benefit for some sort of "toy drive" on Saturday.

Three more shows pending verification.

Dallas area & Arkansas included.

I think of the Pied Piper when I hear the opening of Lonely is the night. It is a calling to listeners. If I were to use it in a gig, I would open with that after a union break.

Union Break: shot, doobie, beer, cigarette, pee. In that order.

Ahh, yes. The Doobie Brothers. Better before McDonald, but time does well for them with. You don't Know Me, But I'm your Brother changed their sound drastically. Almost not doobie like. Oh, you- can smoke another one if you don't like what you see. Takin' it to the streets>
