Christian Rock and Heavy Metal. Is there a sense of History?
1985 -2007 or Did it start with The movement Jesus Christ Super Star?

I went to a Stryper show way back in the day and they started throwing little bibles in the audience. I think the crowd threw half of them back during the show.

To me Christian fundamentals and heavy metal dont really go together.

I say that and have a Christian rock song on my player from a thing I did a couple of years ago.

I better leave this subject alone.

That is really f**k creepy.

This whole world is creepy. Metal and Christianity do not go hand and hand. It just does not fit, it is almost like sacrilege. Does this look like a religious metal band for you! Metallica lyrics:

as i have said in another thread i think its a lesson in futility to try and "marry" christian songs with other styles of music...metal,punk,rap or whatever seems to be hip with the "kids" at the time...

ive never seen other faiths try and jump on the bandwagon the way christians do....praising your god (whoever or whatever it is) with songs is one of the oldest forms of music and i totaly understand the reason behind it.. i like gospel music but for some reason i dont like this "new-wave" christian metal/punk/rap/whatever your having yourself deal..

i imagine it would be like gospel singers singing like angels over 2livecrews.... "me so horny"...its just wrong ..
why do christians feel its "cool and the gang" to play music styles that have nothing to do with the word of god...i mean metal/punk /rock and rap have as much to do with spreading the word of god as syphilis..

if you want to play christian music by all means play christian music but leave metal/punk/rock and rap to people who drink,f uck around,do drugs,dont have jobs,smoke weed,start fights with strangers,steal,lie,hate police,hate religion and feel totaly empty inside...aka non christians.

All well said, IA. Let's just classify it as "Christian Rock." That will just settle this, no need for specific genres, or taking on different cultures of sounds. I cannot stand Christian rock personally, I have heard like 2-3 songs in my life that I have liked that were, the rest I cannot stand. It all sounds alike, too cliche now.

No religious locks around my music playing, lol. I am going to write the same without them, add whatever lyrics I want, and make whatever sound I want. I am not saying I would want to write something that bashes God, I would not do that, that is just wrong. On the contrary, I do like music that tends to, Metallica, A Perfect Circle, etc... I like some of the songs, thus I would still cover them, with fear, lol. With my luck I will play APC's stuff in a place that is designated Christian, and be shot when the part of the song Judith comes that says:

Now I would probably give them the gun to shoot me with, because I could not blame them for being angry over those lyrics. Those are a bit harsh, I will admit. But I love the song.

Please note, those are just lyrics, I mean no offense. If it does offend you I will gladly remove them. Just making a point there. I am not prejudice, I am not a biggot, or a hateful person. I judge a man by his character, not by anything else.

Like I said in another thread I won't play instruments in my songs of praise (we aren't told to under the new law or new testament which we are now under. We are told to sing and make melody in our hearts.) However you can't say metal (or rap or any other style) is sinful. Some metal is not and some metal is. ONLY the lyrics can be. That's like hundreds of years ago when some church tried to ban minor chords. A song can sound angry, but the bible says to be angry... and sin not. So it's ok to be angry. Therefore it's ok to have angry sounding music. What if you wrote an angry sounding song that was angry at the devil for throwing obstacles in your way? hmmm.

... Well, then I would expect to be haunted by the Devil indefinitely for slandering/attacking him in the public eye. Nothing like a good old curse to make your life miserable. You write a song mocking the Devil and you will really need pray in your life.

^ I already am "haunted" or tempted by the devil every day of my life. Everybody needs prayer every day.

Just a quick funny note, on the tv right now they are playing commercials for Christian Rock, lol. It is like a weird coincidence.

In response to you NeanderPaul, yes, I cannot wait till I get my audio up as well. My music is very Middle Eastern sounding, lol. That is, when I play it right and do not mess up every chord. I actually tried to record the other night, and the mic' stunk . But I will figure it out.
