Metallica never survived the bus crash that killed Cliff Burton.
The only thing left was a better-than-average cover band, JIMHO.

Loved Budgie. Disagree about Metallica. Check 'Just a Bullet Away' to see if they don't still have it.

The latest bass player, Rob Trujillo, took a while to grow on me but I've seen vids of him playing with Metallica, Ozzie and Black Label Sociiety. He has grown on me - the guy gets it done.

Metallica has abandoned the lead / rythym guitar concept (thankfully) and to me, sound better than ever. (but please, spare me the ballads!)
