Well, we are turning down some CL ad responders! We are asking for online links or MP3s so we can 'pre-audtion' people - getting many responses, and some, well ... suck, and some are just not suitable for a Beatles tribute band.

On the acoustic band front, I had a response from someone that sounded hopeful, then he finally replies that he's busy until after the holidays - so why did he contact me last week?

Another response from a band needing a lead guitarist right away (gigs booked), I replied right away, 2 days go by with no email back. If they found someone else, or decided I wasn't right based on my online stuff, at least they could reply 'thanks but we're all set'.

I'll take the hit for assuming you puds were actually responsible professionals. It serves me right for not checking to see that your band doesn't even make the top 5000 charts. (and I guess we know why' that' is.....) I see I have wasted my time on your Ad... I'll just be moving on then. Have to modify that a bit, as they were responding to my ad, "Need a guitarist" - that's the annoying part - they contacted me first!

I sent a polite email to the band guy last night and got a response 'sorry, been busy with work, will be in touch'. If he's too busy, yet deperate to find someone, maybe he needs to let someone else in the band do the contacting?! Perusing the CL ads I found one that I guessed was for this band as the wording was much the same as the first email I got. Probably not for me as it's an hour away and may not be my type of music, but will wait to hear.

Meantime, contacted from two more acoustic guys, one half my age, the other an hour away (opposte direction of the band above). Will see if anything comes from these.

Number of people responding to our lead singer ad, I'm guessing some may have been encouraged by their drinkng karoake friends. So we've got one definite audition lined up for next week - guy sounds very enthusiastic, at least; 2nd guy who sounded hopeful has backed out. Third guy (who said he did a solo Beatles acoustic act) sent one MP3 of him singing an original and was pitchy as hell on it.
Two women requested audtions, one was an ok singer, but GB band style, not Beatles. 2nd one said 'come listen to me playing at ..... over the weekend when I asked for youtubes or music samples.
