What concerns me more than anything is that this brazen-evil will force many American citizens to become killers... Americans who were brought up in relatively wholesome context, will now have to live like barbarians to protect their common interests, such as family and homestead.

The US government has managed to keep some of this fact at bay...and I will even add that they have worked very hard. But the truth is, they are losing that war.

Therefore, It is very important now to look at alternatives. In AZ, (the state that Obama lost face with) ranches are collaborating ... What most of you may not know, is they are very close to exercising a shoot to kill on sight /no questions asked policy. What this means, is that innocent (albeit illegal) immigrants are subject to kill shots just as easily as cartel runners are. )

Ranchers have a constitutional right to defend their property and lives. (Fk whatever Obama thinks is correct) As the news attests, one rancher, who offered help to an immigrant, was shot and killed as payback.

There are counter cells forming up in Texas. These are small fringe groups who are also of the Shoot to kill on sight philosophy. Between ranch collaborators and the counter groups along the southwest, its looking more like we are returning to a feudal system. And wouldn't you know, that is precicely how it works in Mexico. The difference is that the cartel owns it there and people pay protection money.

How many of you are willing to pay 'insurance' to be assured that you wont have to deal with Cartels? Think hard about that, because its a model that our Nat Guard, Military, or fringe groups/para military 'might ' one day adopt, to pay for its lethal skills to protect US borderland. Its closer than we imagine.

Finally, How many of you think you have what it takes to rival a Zeta in an assault tactic or contracted hit. We all talk sh*t here on BM and we would all like to believe we are bad asses... We aren't... (As most Americans aren't) .

You cant fight a volley of bullets...nor can you hide.. They are said to have cutting edge reconanssance (After all...we trained them)

The truth is, none of you will survive a Zeta hit or take over. Your neighborhoods will deteriorate, your communities will collapse, and one day your country will become 'their' country, without you in it.

They do not negotiate lives... They exterminate and remove anything and anyone that remotely appears as an obstacle. You are given the choice of Lead or Silver...There is no negotiation. They don't comply or subscribe with your idea of how the world should operate. In short, these are as close to the devil as you will ever see, for real... and you (us) are already in their corridor...

The solution is many-fold:
1) Stop purchasing Drugs
2) Stop Purchasing other vices
3) Stop Purchasing goods and services from folks who are tied with Cartels
4) Get armed , seriously.

I thought Texans LIKED to pretend it is still the old west?

But, seriously, if there are "No Trespassing" signs and warnings that violators will be shot, why shouldn't landowners protect their property?

As for your solutions, well, the "Just Say No" policy didn't work out too well before, did it? So, why should it work now?

Getting arms to defend yourself is what the 2nd Amendment is there for. Knock yourself out.

Yes, that's a good idea.
Then its citizens won't be Americans.
Then we can do to Texans what we do to every other "foreigners" we dislike.

Secessionists are such retards.

jimmydanger wrote: There is every reason to believe that legalization would reduce the total imported to nearly negligible amounts. There is no evidence that this lost revenue for the cartels would be made up by importing other drugs such as cocaine and heroin..

Maybe...The actual war being fought is over corridors for traffic (transportation chains).
Cartels earn Revenues off the following: Aggregated

Herb :@ 60%
Kidnappings, CD Pirating, Heroin, Cocaine. @ 40%
(Also don't forget legitimate businesses)

When Pot gets legal, that doesn't mean that 60% of that trade goes away. It means that the US portion of that 60 percent goes away.

Lets assume 20% impact...There is still the corridor that feeds into Canadian markets, and European Via East coast...

Pot quality is not an issue since Mexican cartels will simply kill off their competitors and take over the biz. Smoker's choice has no bearing really.

Lets say the impact was 60%... They would still be able to enter the market as legitamet vendors... and still exercise evil leverage to make their quotas...

There is no evidence to support impact by virtue of legalization; Cocain will rise to be the new priesthood. Keep in mind, the wars is not about the drug, its about the corridor and sales territory. Seems to me legal or not , people will still die.

ATthe end of the day... If the world stopped consumming these drugs like it does, then the cartels will go away. Until the demand changes, they will always thrive. The choice is on the consumer, not the cartel, not the legislature

Well, it sure wasn't because it was an independent country.
It joined the United States for a reason, didn't it?

Legalize everything, tax it, regulate it just like alcohol.
Deport anyone not a citizen (this includes H1B's!).
Dedicate FBI teams (much like they do to domestic terrorism) to deal with the threat.

You all say they are here, but I haven't seen any evidence (that pertains to ME)
You all say they have infested politics both state and federal, yet I see no incidence.

Show me the money, and I might be willing to believe it.

Otherwise, these guys just remind me of the old lyric- "meet the new boss, same as the old boss"

PD: Well sure if people stopped using drugs the cartels would go away. That really doesn't say much though does it? We need real solutions. And very little of the drugs from Mexico go anywhere else but here; Canadians mostly grow their own (never heard of BC Bud?). More and more Americans grow their own or buy from other American growers, so the cartels are fighting over a shrinking customer base, thus the increasing violence.
