A friend wrote a poem for his wife. He gave it to me to put into a song for their 30th anniversary. I edited the lyrics for phrasing.

It's traditional as it's not my usual looping. I recorded rhythm, bass, drums, wurlitzer electric piano, leads, and vocals on my 16 track fostex digital recorder.

It's the first song on my player. "Every reason why". Looking for listens and feedback if you choose.

Love it! The main vocal reminds me of They Might Be Giants for some reason. Excellent harmonies.

I hear some country and western in it, but it didn't phase me much at all.

Nice work, Paul !!!

not crazy about the keys/bass/drums following the same line so much, but other than that i like it. nice harmonizing. like the raw recording sound. almost live sounding.
You carried the essence of the lyrics well in the song.
I never expect anything but good work from you Paul!

Well, move on to the second and third song. The third one fits the profile pic. ;) I also do instrumental, country, spoken word, rap, a capella, etc etc etc Thanks for the listen and feedback.

Thanks all for responding. :) The only guitar is my 4 string cigar box guitar as many of you would expect. And the drums are my 3 piece stand up kit.

Pretty neat little song.

However! <---

... I think you could get away with chopping from 1:16 to 2:31, and it would be just as good, but shorter.
I know you like the shorter ones, so just a thought.

Interesting, another musician friend said that was his favorite part of the song. That was the very first part of the song. It came to me as a whistling solo. It actually dictated the whole chord progression. Thanks for the response!
