Click on my profile page, click the audio/video button, then click on the individual song titles (there's six songs) to download them. I'm not much of a computer person, a friend helped me put the songs on my profile page. Please let me know if you can download them and if they sound okay. Thanks a lot..from fisherman bob your friendly neighborhood bluesman

Bob,

That was a pain in the ass! LOL

If I didn't feel like I knew you pretty well, I wouldn't have trusted trying to get that file to play. cause even though it says WMA, it downloads as a "document" or "unknown file".

So, I download the file.

Had to rename it so it ended with .wma

Which let the 'puter know it was an audio file.

Clicked on it to listen, but...

Then... THEN.... Damn Microsoft pops up and tells me that this file was ripped from a CD and I have to download a license, cause it can only be played in a few computers.

f**k Microsoft!!!!

So... I am worried that after so many license downloads, no one else will be allowed to hear it? Not sure. But I really wanted to hear it, so I went ahead and downloaded the license. Sorry. :-)

Really clean recording. Nice blues song. You guys are tight. Enjoyed it very much. Liked the bass, the rhodes (or rhodes-ish keys) good lead axe. Everything was really good.

Get some music converter software though, and convert the files to MP3 and just upload them to the player, to make it easier for everyone.

I can direct you to some freeware to do it, if you like!

I'd like to download the others too, but I don't know if I am cutting into anyone else's licensing possibilities, so I won't I guess. :-(

Good job brother!

Would I be better off taking those wma's off and trying to load them on the player? We tried to figure out how to do that and were unsuccessful. Thanks for the compliments. I don't know which song you listened to. Three are covers: Hoochie Coochie Man, I Got My Mojo Working, and Pride and Joy. Three are originals: Roadrunner, She's Got It Going On, and Tell Me About the Blues. I'm the lead vocalist on the three covers and Tell Me About the Blues. Our keyboard/harmonica player is the singer on the other two originals. All songs were recorded in a professional studio basically one take on each with vocal overdubs and some instrument overdubs. The whole project took only about 13 hours. As you can tell I like to keep everything as balanced as possible with the vocals clearly understandable. I don't like a lot of reverb in the mix. I guess you could say I want it to sound like the first couple of AC/DC albums with Bonn Scott (not musically but tonally). Anyway thanks for the input. Later...

I had to go to the upload page to be sure, the player oinly accepts MP3 format, you have to make sure the box saying "Allow people to download this song" is checked ofr it to show up, which I think you did.

I'm using Audacity to record, what little recording I can do anyway, and it does a very good job of converting to MP3 once you get the LAME encoder and tell it Audacity where it is. MAkes a good player too, with a lot of recording and editing features not really needed for a player, but if you want to record at home too it's excellent.

dbpoweramp is a good player, and can convert file types, but I never did use that feature when I used the player a while back. Not sure what the newer versions are like, it's been 2 or 3 years.

I punched "audio file convertor" into Google and got This. should be some good ones there, but read the EULA closely, spyware is aa huge problem with downloaded software.

I'm not much of a computer person. The person that tried to upload these songs runs a recording studio, he's going to try and figure out a better way to do it today or tomorrow. Hope to have the problems solved soon, I'll let you know when you can download the songs without all these hassles. (I thought computers were supposed to make communication easier!?) Later...

Bob,
Click on the Canada topic board to read my thoughts on te subject of why so many bandmix acounts don't have "audio". Its obvious that you need to get your songs converted to the MP3 format. As stated many times before,it has taken me a month to get a song on my profile.I would have just said " to hell with it!" had it not been for the kind assistance of my wife and the good people on this forum. Bandmix can probably help you with your particular problem if you can get their attention.Post on the "questions to Bandmix"forum. Hope to hear some good blues outta ' ya' soon! Good luck.

Click on my profile page, the songs look like they are ready to be played. Sorry for the problems you encountered. I'm a dumbass when it comes to the computer (some people think I'm a dumbass period)! Let me know if they now work and if they sound okay. We're getting some play on a local radio station in Kansas City apparently. If I can just get some of these bar owners to "let" us play some of our originals then I would gig again real soon. I can't play them on my computer because the sound system is totally screwed up. Everybody sounds like they've been sucking helium, it drives me crazy not to be able to listen to what you people have uploaded, would love to hear it properly. I've got to get the geek squad out here to fix it once and for all. Hope you enjoy it (or not). I'm open for constructive criticism. Later...

The line-up you heard consists of keyboard/harp/vocalist (lead singer on Roadrunner & She's Got It Going On), myself on bass and main vocalist, drums & lead guitar. All four members have played part-time pro for well over 25 years. That guitar player disappeared so we're looking for a new one. If we get the right person we'll be going back to the studio real soon. This is something I've done non-stop for a long time. We basically recorded everything one take in the studio and went back and over-dubbed vocals & some lead parts. The keyboard player plays different modes on different songs, gives us a nice mix of sound, as well as a very good harp player to boot. I've always been in bands with either harmonica or horns, just goes well with what we're doing. Glad you liked what you heard so far. Thanks for the input. Looking forward to hearing what other people have downloaded when I fix this damn computer. Later...
