of course it has something to do with it.
lets just take your liberal point of view for granted;
conservatives are;
1 white
2 protestant
3 upper middle class/wealthy
4 would quickly ban abortion
5 would severely curtail goverment provision for people physically able to work.
6. highly suspicious of joining any group that is not a church group or hunting club
7 small business owners to some degree.
8 would ban gay practices and promotion of homosexual life styles.
9 shun people/races who do not assimilate with conventional white social structure.
10 shun immigrants who overtly attach them selves to their former nationalities.
romnny fails at several of these points
2 wasps do not trust the morman cult never have never will.
4 only really believes abortion is wrong if you are a mormon female
5 supports in goverment maintenance/management of the labor pool
6 is a life long member of a cult that is antagonist to the protestant church and very antagonistic to the catholic church,
7 is very inclusive if there is any chance of converting you.
8 if your gay you are nonconvertible so they are blatantly ambivalent to queers.
not to mention he did not rise from the rank of the people he was foisted on us by outsiders.
it is also helpful to remember over 3 million conservative republicans did not vote this time.
