Since thc stays in your body much longer than does alcohol, if you smoke very often you may have to ride the bus, or risk getting DUI problems.

The impairment of one's driving abilities is much more severe with alcohol compared to thc, but such subtle distinctions can be easily overlooked by lawmakers, many of whom are alcoholics.

It's in the article I linked.

I know people who use weed every day, they have better than average driving records spanning decades ... sounds like they could be facing serious DUI charges under this law if they dare drive their car.

One GRAM of weed can get you 1 year in jail and lost license for 3-5 years, whether you are in a car or not, and that's for a first offense.

Everyone here hates it but none of our state reps will listen to us. Elections don't matter when all of your choices still won't listen to you. Not much different than federal elections I guess.

1 year for 1 Gram? The legal system is so wacked it's ridiculous.
California has struck down legalizing it a few times which is odd but now that California has a democratic super majority, I'm sure things will change in the near future.

Califrnia passed Prop 8 a few years ago, too. You might be a solidly democratic state, but your ballot initiatives are a mess.

Like I said, the legislature here is now a democrat super majority, so times are a-changin'

Probably do ... but even if they waited until they are not "baked", they could still have a residual background level of thc in their bloodstream of as much as 20ng for a daily user. They would have to not ingest any cannabis for 4 or 5 days to get down to a 5ng level to legally operate a car. That is a huge disparity in relation to alcohol, which is proven to be a much, much, more lethal inebriant.

Don't deal drugs unless you like fing with people's lives and you want a unhealthy stay in the jail of someone else's choice.

It's not a viable, intelligent option for honest, hard-working, regular people.

The fact that they are attempting to legalize is interesting considering I thought it would never happen anywhere within the USA.

(scratching head in confusion)

It will be legalized nationally within 5 to 10 years. It will be sold in pharmacies. A person buying it will have to be 18, just like alcohol. Legalization is on the way...

this is an interesting point. i bet the powers that be are going to have relax the numbers of acceptable THC levels to make it viable. we'll see.

It was the day after Thanksgiving. The 'square' of the Talbot brothers had been coaxed into trying weed.

"I don't feel sh*t!" he said...

A bit later we heard these horrible gobbling sounds, like a werewolf devouring a nubile college girl!

We raced to the kitchen and there he was. There'd been a half a turkey sitting on a serving plate - for a family dinner of leftover turkey. Now all that remained were the crumbs that he had spat out while chewing enthuseastically with his mouth open...

We had a lot of trouble explaining that one to Mrs Talbot the elder.
