I recorded Europa with backing tracks because I had not used my recorder in almost 5 years. I was having to relearn the thing. I am lucky it turned out as well as it did. All of the other songs on my player that have original next to them were songs that I wrote played and recorded all parts including vocals. No one other than myself had anything to do with those songs. I do use canned drums. I commend Jimmy on the job he did!

Jeff, I don't think there's anything wrong with using backing tracks, a musician should be free to use anything that helps him/her get it done. I just wanted to address the comments on bass levels, keyboards vs acoustic guitar, etc. I would love to have another crack at it someday but I'm so busy it's not at the top of my list. My new classic rock band is coming along very nicely, I would like to record our version of "Born to Run" or "Synchronicity II" they rock.

Yes mine too! I was doubtful if a 4-piece rock band could pull off "Born to Run" but it works quite well. Probably be a while before I get it recorded since we're going into the holiday season and people need more time off, but maybe by January.

Jeff, Jimmy...nice job, both of you! I've always liked this tune and it's a fun one to play. Especially when it kicks into that two chord doubletime section at the end!

Has anyone elase ever noticed that the A section use the same chord progression as "Autumn Leaves"? Even the scalar melody is very similar!

When soloing on "Europa" I often throw a "Autumn Leaves" "quote" in there to see if anyone is listening. 8) The other quote I'll toss in sometimes is "Theme From Mash" which also uses a similar chord progression.

Interesting, I never noticed that! I used to get Europa and "Still Got The Blues For You" by Gary Moore mixed up. At one gig I started Europa when I was supposed to play Still got The Blues I'll never forget that one! Thank God the rest of the band caught it!

Please people, try mozilla firefox or anything else.

DO NOT USE Microsoft I.E. of any version.

"Too much nasty going on for that browser and it's full of vulnerabilities".

Opera, Chrome if you must or preferably Mozilla Firefox.

I agree Jimmy is an AWESOME guitar player! Yeah you know I like to DRANK! Our bass player Randy makes fun of my mullet and the word DRANK (he is from Kansas). He calls me the woolly mamouth and buys me a DRANK! Here in Texas the old timers tend to use an a where they should use an i, i.e. Think=thank, drink=drank, bring=brang I am completely aware of my accent having said that I like to listen to their accents as much as anyone!

Wow! Both of these versions sound great!! Props to the both of you, Jimmy and Jeff! I wish I had the chops to record my own version but it will fail in comparison. The best thing about these recordings is how it captures each player's emotional content. Thanks, I really enjoyed them.
