The Tigers DID win the AL pennant. I believe the layoff hurt them. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not. But in the end the Giants had too much pitching for everybody. You don't win six elimination games in a row without arms.

There is no shame in being beaten by a better opponent. The Giants were better. I'm just happy we beat the Yankees in four straight, but I'm happy when anyone beats the Yankees.
