When I say I don't like Mexicans I mean Mexican nationals. If you are of Mexican American descent and were born a LEGAL U.S. citizen in my mind you are just as American as me! Jeff, Its futile to even try to persuade anti-Texas folks to see the light. Ya gotta let go, brother... There are so many more important things to focus on... I was reading the Bolero Post... and I noticed something very interesting in Jimmy's' voice of Prose'... Jimmy, it seems that there was genuine excitement in that voice, for the music you were arranging. Seemed that you had a boost of heart in your words... You even admitted, humbly your own sense of efficacy, surrounding your own skills... Today, I feel vitriol, contempt, sardonic poise and sarcasm in all that you post. What happened Jimmy? What made you turn hard on some of the BM folk... I know that a lot of people on BM respect your musicianship...(I do even though i've not shown it) ...and I think even Jeff does) . But I also notice that BM could be like cold stone rubble, when certain ideas are shared... It depends on the day, and the mood I supposes. What turned ya hard Jimmy? I'll bite Grant. This is how you react when you have an EMPTY existence (no belief in God or country)! This is how you react when you are a self righteous, arrogant BASTARD! Grant you are right I STILL respect this PRICKS musicianship. I tried harder to be friends with him than ANYONE in my 54 years. Why I don't know? He has hated on me for NO REASON other than the fact I am from Texas and well, its obvious I think to EVERYONE! I am about HONESTY! I have been honest about my feelings on this site to the point of GREAT ridicule! Frankly I feel good about my honesty because IMO that is what society lacks. I have BARED my soul to you folks in a way I never have to ANYONE! Call me a dumbass I DON'T care my conscience is CLEAR!

You know I told ya'll not to have such a thin skin, it's simply not wise as a performer. Someone is always trying to dig at your last nerve, it's up to you to deny them.

Jeff Its yer Honesty is why we love you (That, and your damn great guitar playing skills!) .

I once had a friend who was in real life, very much like I imagine Jimmy would be in real life...
My friend even has the same look and body type of Jimmy. Adding to it, my friend was a very studious individual, who prided himself on a degree of mental prowess in all things technical. However, Unlike Jimmy, He was not a musician. He was/is a master disc-jockey and bar none is on top of his game for the fleeting fast-lane commercial trends. Beyond that, he had no sense of refined aesthetics, per se. Jimmy strikes me as a guy who does have some sense of it.

My friend will die a lonely man, as he is fearful of sharing his empire of beads with anybody special...He has no Girlfriend, He lives with his mom (says its to take care of her) and He cant get past his own cynicism of the world In essence, he lacks hope. Funny thing about the regression of hope. It began for my friend as a pension for the Mardis Gras beads... These are his signature gimmicks for every occasion of party. .He is the quintessential distributor of meaningless but shiny plastic things. My prideful friend touts the Cologne in the plastic bottle, but settles only for the highest quality colognes in the best of plastic bottles. Indeed, a very earthy guy... conflicted with his higher state of scientific mindedness.

Jimmy has one advantage over that of my friend... He appears to seek a higher plane of distractions. Prides himself on refinements of aesthetics, and has both the scientific and artistic mind, coupled into the frenzy of free-for-all abandonment (in so much as a 50+ year old man can thrash like that. ) He is not quick to abandon hope, thus there is hope for him LOL!

My point is that Jimmy's expectations are much higher than BM folk can ever meet up to. Its not our fault, and really its not his...

Remember, Jimmy places no stock in the invisible man in the sky... How then, would he take very seriously, anonymous virtual posters, who happen to use familiar names...
From what I gather, Jimmy is by nature, thoughtful and prudent in real life. His alter Ego as a punk rocker might actually be the relief he seeks to escape the pressures of scientific mindedness and ordered existence. (just speculating) ...

In any case, I gather that Jimmy's scientific-mindedness is not likely to allow him to nurture any friendship in the virtual setting anymore than he would entertain and nurture the existence of a God. But his artistic mindedness allows him to seek the amusement of our virtual shenanigans. To us, he may come off as arrogant. But its not arrogance... Its more about delineating boundaries. Simply put, Jimmy cant be owned by convention, person or dogma. To that end , we see here, that he sets the boundaries accordingly.

Now, Jimmy likes to be the driver in many situations... I suspect, he wont let his pals down, if they believe in him... Therein lies the real crux of conflict. With Jimmy you gotta believe in him, or believe in something else, but I get the impression its not allowed to be both. Additionally, when you drive, ya kinda have to come off stoic to others. How else will they take you seriously?

So, Jeff..In a nutshell, he's always gonna be the guitar buddy that got away...not cause of anything you said or did, but rather because that's the nature of ol Jimmy. He cant be owned... its that simple.
