No of course not Chippy! I consider you guys to be friends and that's what you want from your friends, their opinion. There's not much that could be said about the thing that I haven't already heard or thought myself lol. I would love another crack at recording it if I had the time or money but I don't. I know they have better sounding patches than I had available back then (especially the clarinet) but for the time it was cool. Thanks again for your interest!

p.s. Bolero was also featured in the movie "Arthur". Bo Derek's character used it to seduce Dudley Moore's character, hilarious.

Thats very cool Jimmy

I wish I had the patience to do something like that, my hats off to you!

I turned it on at work and jsut let it roll. Those old desert movies always coem to mind when I hear this. I forgot about it being in the movie 10. I had Lawrence Of Arabia in mind while I listened.

I remember when those Roland units came out, demoed a few, and at the time couldnt really figure a way to use one. Looks like you found a way.

Keep Rockin!!!

Oops, you're right, the movie was "10" not "Arthur". The brain just doesn't work like it used to (among other things). Thanks for listening John.

That was really cool. I played with a guitarist who performed live with a synthesizer that had dozens of different modes on it, saxophone, trumpet, keyboards, etc. One time at a gig he punched the wrong code and when we started playing Hideaway, Freddie King's most famous instrumental, an extremely high-pitched sound came out of his amp. It was the piccolo mode! Man did that sound weird! Imagine playing any famous classic rock or blues lead on piccolo.

WOW! That is supercool. And for being recorded way back then, the woodwind sounds are halfway convincing. The way the vibrato kicks in on the longer sustained notes sounds pretty accurate too. But sorry, that snare drum sound has GOT to go though! LOL!

Oh, and i almost forgot, the guitar(s?) playing that octave figure crack me up! I mean in GOOD way.

I had a chance to pick up one of those older goofy looking ROLAND bass synths with that big stabilizer bar but didn't think i'd have much use for it. After to listening to this I'm sorry I didn't nab it when I had the chance.

Right on JC. Like I said I can send you a CD that has it on it, as well other classical pieces. I called it "Bach in Black" after the AC/DC album. Send me your address to jimmydanger56@yahoo.com and I'll get one out to you.

1974! That's the year I really started to practice. I had a guitar before then but it just sat in the corner of my room for the most part. My first working band was 1979.
