3.U2.................................................after the u2 spy plane
4.the kaiser chiefs.............................an african football(soccer) team
5.david bowie...........real name david jones named after american hero
6.nirvana..................................as in the trance like state of nirvana
7.the blind boys of alabama.................the name says it all
8.fugazi....slang name used by us troops in the nam war for crazy/insaine
9.lynyrd skynyrd.............................after there old school teacher
10.abba..........................................all the first letters of there names

I read that Led Zeppelin was so named because Keith Moon said the project would go over like a lead balloon. Is that true?

^ I heard the same thing. Actually I heard he said like a led zeppelin. I think it was on VH1 that I heard it.

Small time band name I like....

Black Mariah........I guess in the UK its a paddy wagon. In the U.S. a hundred years ago they were "black" horse drawn hearses. Anybody have another definition?

I always thought the name AREOSMITH sounded cool.
