Sad day when a Texas boy can't play his guitar out of the city limit, on his own damn property without gaining unwanted attention.

The flip side was my bassist was so excited.

He had this big jackass eating briars grin laughing ( he is a quiet man )

" Man ! " " do you know how long it's been since I got shut down by the cops?"

" I feel GREAT "

Gota love that enthusiasm . . .

Your next mission, should you decide to accept, ...

is to Convene on a rooftop near center of town ...

and see how long you can last before the coops shut you down there. :D

The last recorded time duration was about 30 minutes , some where in London, back around 1969...

George I hope you didn't get shut down in your rehearsal studio? That could become a problem. Past experience that old neighbor that lives a quarter mile away. "I shouldn't have to hear that rock music" you know the kind when the music is not too loud they just want to control someone!

Whew, George - that is heavy duty cred! You must be getting it done! I know just what your bass player was thinking.

At least they didn't shoot your dog.

Err...welcome to the club. My experiences with cops in this context range from very ugly to kinda funny. Could do without any of it.

But since you're a Texas boy, "Don't you think this outlaw thing has done got out of hand?"

Shucks, I wasnt even in the states when that happened...totally missed it...

I hereby declare a race to see who can get the most songs in on a roof top!
(George! Your destiny awaits you! )

Where were you playing? What time of the day/night?

Back in the early 80s my band practiced for about 2 months (winter and it got too cold to practice in the drummer's unheated basement) in my 2-room basement apartment. Not one neighbor in the building ever complained, but one time we finished a song and heard this banging on the metal bars on the (open) window and this old lady yells in 'turn down the *&$% music' - she lived down and across the street!

I've had a few friends that have moved to rural areas and have thrown parties and there are always some assholes who wind up being within earshot.

Soundwaves can be amplified in weird ways. One of the bands I was in used to practice in a basement in a house real loud. One day we were playing very quietly and some gal WAY down the street called the cops on us. The policeman couldn't hear us at all outside the house we were practicing at but it WAS real loud at her house.

We were in my shop, on my property, outside the city limits.
The cop showed up at about 21:30

I'm sure it's some crotchety old bastard with nothing better to do than complain.

Screw em . . . we're back in the saddle tonight!
