I was in the 9th grade and not playing yet, either - I'm sure I didn't hear about it for several days as we were pretty isolated on Cape Cod back then, no rock radio station closer than Boston.

Just imagine what Jimi might have done ... :(

I was in the 6th grade and just becoming familiar with the violin! I could smell smoke (not tobacco) coming from my older sisters room and I could here this most AWESOME guitar work blaring on her stereo! I even learned to play purple haze on the fiddle back then! LMAO! I hadn't discovered sex, drugs, or the MULLET yet! 8)

The late 60's and early 70's was a magical time for a young teenager into music. We had the likes of Jimi to inspire us (I'm 54 years old).

Apparently drowned in his own puke stoned in the back of an ambulance in London I believe.

And we still have not learned his greatest lesson.

this would of course imply that you and who ever is with you still enjoy sleeping pills and wine.

True . . . and I've seen my share.

Still, my point being that we should be better stewards of our bodies not hasting our demise in ignorance or apathy.

In as much as we are able at least.
