Yeah, if music isn't that deep in you, maybe you can take up bowling.

After having yet-another person never get back in touch with me about doing an acoustic act a couple of weeks ago, I've had another contact via my CL ad, we're going to get together in a week or so and see if there's any compatibility.

Wouldn't want anything that you could do just because you had to do it because it was who you are.

Think on that.

It seams once you get past a certain age, things get tougher. I see endless ads in CL that want "18-30 only need apply." "Must have RnR look." "Pro level ability required"--whatever that means. I did not know you had to have Pro level ability for a hobby or to sound good.

Truly it sucks not being young. I've looked at that and came to some conclusions. It really is a filter on the things you can do. And you really aren't as cool as you were - you're not ready to cut your ties and go to NY or LA to chase a record deal.

But you've probably got some good chops by now and maybe some songs, some experience. Just figure out what space you want work in and chase it.

I've played recently with some guys my age and some a lot younger. Sadly, I have to admit I preferred the younger! You old guys need to rekindle that energy! :D

If you are the main, yeah it's all the usual sheet.

If you play support, you can be as old as you got to be because the band still has to sound good and no one cares if your bassist, drummer, keys, xylophone player are 99 + years of age.

(you stick them in the bad in the dark or where ever they seem to grow)

Had enough of looking for a band. I will sell my stuff and buy myself a nice Christmas present.

Uh-oh. I'd better get on CL before next Tuesday, more like in 5 minutes; can't get distracted!

Uh, uh no uh, suuuuure, not next Tuesday ... 360 days, yeah - wait! I already decided I'm going to be 30 forever, so it's cool. :P

Related funniness; my mom has long said she's 29 ... even after that got awkward for obvious reasons ... But she does act younger than I do. She's not just in love with Justin Timberlake (a year older than I) she likes Kesha!! (Ke$ha?)

BTW, did anyone else notice the age-display coding is messed up here? I had to fudge my numbers because a website does NOT tell a woman she's older!!! Two weeks, two hours, whatever - not cool.

Oh and I tried to make an album two years ago (BEFORE thirty) alone with just software, loops, downloads (of random sounds or beats), etc. It didn't work because I couldn't create the sound I wanted from nothing OR turn the loops into "me." I seriously think they were advertised wrong / described inaccurately (so not the sound they mentioned, grr, oh well). Yeah, my fingers stink for anything but typing; I kept trying a few instruments but nope. As a teen, I wrote a LITTLE on my acoustic guitar... It was slow going but I worked on it more than a student should. Mostly, it was lyrics...

Anyway, I guess I'm really just saying at least I try. With some stupid, annoying breaks to live in the real world, mixed in. 8)

Oh and back to the response, specifically ... at least the other things I can have, make or fake ... unless they want a six-pack. _I_ don't even want a six pack! Haha. Some pounds gone and thinnish curves, well still the goal.... but some peeps can go do you-know-what...

I have multiples of shapewear (good for layering them) and look just fine, thanks! :-) (I recently lost over 15 lbs.) Goal: health!

Oh, off topic? Well, it's the same.

I heard a great quote from Tony Dungy today...

"it's not doing the extraordinary things that make a great competitor....it's doing the ORDIANRY things really well".
