Now what's your excuse?

my excuse for what?

see, i read that same article and see it for what it is. people are f**k things up and can't be responsible.

it's not the gov't that is bitching about 'em...it's other CITIZENS. citizens who don't wanna see dogs tied to parking meters....who don't wanna be steppin in dog sh*t.

and THEN the gov't steps in to address THOSE folks complaints.

seems pretty cut and dried to me.

on the other hand you get on here bitching and moaning about the gubment in "some town" saying the THE GOV'T SAY YA CAN'T OWN A DOG!!!! AND NO DAMN GUBMENT IS GONNA TELL ME THAT!!!!

that's just more Chicken Little "THE SKY IS FALLING" stir the pot bullshit that has ZERO basis in facts.

all to stir sh*t and take another errant misplaced shot at the gov't!

read it again. w/o moving your lips.

no one said you can't OWN A DOG. the thing they're CONSIDERING is banning dogs from a small downtown area.

not exactly the same as claiming they're taking away folk's right to own a dog. is it?

now, d'ya have any more half baked fingers of accusation ya want to level at the damn gov't????

are you illiterate, ignorant, or just too stubborn to admit you got it wrong.

press number #2 for "all the above"

here. read it again...or have someone read it for you if the big words are proving troublesome...

Officials in a Pennsylvania town said they are considering a proposal to ban dogs from the municipality's business district"

so please explain...how does that equal they're not allowing people to OWN dogs?

c'mon you can't REALLY be THAT thick glen. can you?

...Dane ... Excellent Point. Hitler and Gandhi in agreement. I can see how you would differ regarding the way you feel and what you have stated which is all perfectly legitimate, logical and respective.

I ask do you have Pets ? Did you grow up with any ? I feel these factors make a difference in one's viewpoint don't you ?

Bleeding an animal is desired when you butcher it to eat. And I must agree once again with Slacker in that I do like some animals more than I like some people .

stray cats are what I take care of, people dump them with no emotional attachment, costs 12 dollars a sack for cat food and run through 2-1/2 of those a month.. the cost of spaying is enormous at 45 dollars a piece and some semi-ferral enough as to not be able to catch them and if you could they could not be handled..
I was not trying to be contradictory, but only wanted to say, Gandhi and Hitler were as different as night and day, Gandhi indeed lived in a country where killing an animal is againt their Hindu religious beliefs, would love to hear jimmy's opinion on religion getting in the way of having a tasty hamburger... but Hitler had no qualms with Josef Mengele performing horrendous torture on concentration camp victims but had the audacity to punish a fisherman sending him to a concentration camp for cutting up a bait frog?..

...Dane ... I thank you for your reply ... All of the cats we have could be classified as "stray" I suppose. ?Baster? was a small black kitten who was thrown over the wall into our compound in Cuernavaca by the neighbors as they had "fun" killing the kittens and their Mother. They threw Baster over the wall in the hopes that our English Mastiff "Geist" would eat her...her eyes were not even open yet. Instead he shaded her from the blazing sun and guarded her until we returned home ...when the smallest child (a 5 yr old boy) told us what had happened. We fed her with an eye dropper and somehow she survived ... she is grown, spayed and happily living with us.

One thing about where we live is that they regularly have free or very low fee programs to neuter or spay cats and dogs. One must just be careful which Vet as some are rather dodgy. Another cat "Sentri" was pulled from a large dumpster at the school where Amanda my wife teaches. The janitor was in a quandry so Amanda said "give it to me" and brought him home. Now he is grown, neutered and lives in our Living Space and Studio with Baster. The latest addition is "Grey" who was a tiny little and very noisy little thing who simply showed up one day rather emaciated and stayed ... since we began to feed her. She was pregnant to our surprise as she was so tiny and gave birth to 4 really tiny kittens a month ago in a crevice in the rock cliff near our chickens. We have made a better place for her and when she is done nursing will have her spayed asap and money permitting. The kittens will eventually go to a pet shop run by our Vet and his also Vet wife. So that is the tale of the cats. I admire you for feeding the strays and unwanted ...it makes you more of a human in my opinion.

I did not take any of what you stated as being contradictory in a combative sense and I thank you for showing concern. We are well past that I would like to think and even if we do have extremely conflicting opinions we could discuss them is a civilized manner I believe. I loved the contrast of Hitler and Gandhi by the way. That in itself is an excellent "hook". Hitler I am sure you know was a vegetarian with only one ball ... we possess both and devour meat I assume ... at least we have a couple of things in common aside of course from the obvious "supreme intellectualism and very obvious sense of humour"
