I have nothing against the blues. It's not my favorite thing, but what the hey. But sheeeeyit....saying you have a hole in your soul if you don't like it? How fundamentalist. That's arrogant, nutcase talk.

LOL, hello Kettle? It's Pot...you're black...

Lighten up and spare us the condescending attitude every now and then. That act has been old for quite a while now.

Oh PLEASE do get over yourself. don't get your dress up over your head just because I don't agree about having a hole in my soul owing to a lack of alot of Blues CDs laying around.

Nope, I haven't encountered any BandMix rule about questioning you. You are free to exercise your opinion.

ok fair points craig and howlinj i would just like to state agin im not aginst the blues(and ive never said that) ive just never been exposed to it the way you guys have over here...and true howlinj "rory gallagher" is probably the finest example of our take on blues but he was a true pioneer nobody in ireland was playing blues untill he picked up a guitar.
and on another note i went to see the "blind boys of alabama" at chrismas and it blew my mind, now would you class them as "blues" or "gospel" or both? either way i loved it.

Well of course you would Anthony. Now that I looked the damn thing up I see why. Reminds me of "The Commitments" is it similar? Better?

Surprised I have not seen it before. I'm a big movie buff. But glad I looked it up. I added a word to my vocabulary...

all pretty bluesy. Three of them are covers (The Hoochie Coochie Man, I Got My Mojo Working, Pride and Joy) and three are originals (Roadrunner, Tell Me About the Blues, She's Got It Going On). I believe the real reason why people like the blues is glandular based. I call it "developing the blues glands." Some people never the develop the blues glands. I developed mine at an early age. There's something almost primordial about a blues progression. I've heard a few other sayings about the difference between rock and blues: You can take the boy out of rock, but you can't take rock out of the boy. And you can take the man out of the blues, but you can't take blues out of the man. Anyway, enjoy the New Year, and enjoy (or not) The Bluefin Tuna Band. Later...fisherman bob

I like blues, especially the English masters and some Americans, notably Johnny Winter (when he was young), Allman Bros and ZZ Top. And Rory Gallagher rocked! But I really can't stand all the SRV clones with their crappy strats and SRV hats.

SRV had nice guitars, but you are right, the SRV clones are scary and I am not fond of them either. I listen to Pearl Jam, amd Mike McCready, their lead guitarist, dressed like him in the video to "Alive." It was rather creepy, lol. There is only one SRV, and let us let him be himself and stop trying to be him. Then again, if you think about it, SRV was at times practically trying to be Hendrix. It appears people like to act as clones instead of creating their own sound at times.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Well I like the blues so I'm positive I won't be going to hell. On a side note, everybody sounds like somebody. I try not to sound like anybody though.
