Hey friends, I have a story to tell ya! Wiseguy was playing tonight at a local biker bar. We segway (spelling but phuk it) the national anthem Hendrix, with Aerosmiths version of "Come together" I was noticing during the National Anthem folks started singing soon EVERYONE started singing along. As I got further into the song Tears started welling up in my eyes! I don't think many noticed because we were up on the stage. At the end of the night I told the house how much they had touched my SOUL and that they made me cry. After admitting this the band got "ONE HELL OF AN APPLAUSE!

There is just something about seeing 70 or so people sing along with the National Anthem (and doing it note for note, word for word, and beat for beat) unrehearsed and COMPLETELY spontaneously that tugs at my heartstrings! Mybad?

That's rad. It's awesome when you and your audience can connect like that. I think that makes you a musician, and your fans appreciate your work.

I know! It is interesting to see peoples reaction when I relate these kinds of experiences!

Way back in the 80s, someone in my band said, 'let's sing God Bless America - it's a sure way to get a standing ovation' at some gig we were playing, I think a benefit at a VFW hall. We did it, and got everyone standing and singing along.

It takes a thoughtful person to be able to scan and emotionally acknowledge the joy or sadness in each corner of one's life.

In one of my songs, I'm all about the expression or grief, I actually slipped in the lyric cause i was on the verge of a tear, as i was singing it ("Drawing me closer") You can tell toward the end right before the instrumental coda "...Tooo you..." .
