I'm nort showing off John those country
leads fit right into that song. I play all styles
sorry you took offense to my post, and thought
I was showing off.

I don't seem to come off very well in this forum,
and am probably worse in person.

I want to play music whatever kind it is on any instrument
available, but this does seem to be primarily a rock guitar
players forum, with a occasional drummer and bassists
sprinkled thru the mix.

I'm actually playing in 2 groups cause my old drummer
and dear friend just got out of detox and wants to play
so he comes over and we play with some other old friends.

Chill out man

LOL, Lynard I was being sarcastic, it takes way more than you to get me riled up! LOL!

jsantos,
A little slop in some of the picking runs, but overall, it was Interesting.
Good composition and rough draft.

Scotty - I can't really hear you. I like to check out your stuff, but crank up that guitar in the mix a bit for your weedely bits.

JCP - Uhh... didn't care for that one. I remember you had posted a video or something before that I found interesting though.

Lynard - I'd put your samples under the "It aint cuttin it" category, at least for lead guitar.

I'm going to hunt down my little half-instrumental and add it to my profile again.
While I'm doing that, I'll do some more poking around at others profiles.

Oh wow thanks! My plan is to have real instruments recorded soon. I also have some problems with phrasing and timing issues with guitar. It was a rough sketch but I am stoked that you liked it.

J,

I really really Like the way you bring in the the guitar rythm at time 1:00 and how that supports the lead runs... I am especially impressed with the way It juxtaposed the intro and elaboration (I believe PlanetGuy called it a confusion in a good way) The reason it reminds me of some of the dream theater is becus it actually is a tunefull piece an dthe arrangement works very well...

The only thing I would do is take away two bars of the main intro and jumt straight away to the Time 1:00 section : )

IMHO 8)

Great Job dude!

Wow! Thanks for the listen Dog.

gt The Ultimate Fear didn't cut it for me,
rhythm or lead guitar, I guess it's just not
my style. Sounded like all the other metal
music I've heard, I just don't understand it,
there's no beauty in your chording or lead
phrases, It seems like you just want to sound like
every other metal band, but I don't know metal
music nor do I care for it, so I'm probably not
a very good judge of your talents. The music
didn't speak to me in anyway, just sounded like
noise, I must be getting old, play something beautiful.

i'd be remiss if i didn't say...beauty is in the ear of the beholder.

and oh.... how i so hate to be remiss.

well, lynard....it ain't my cup of my meat either. i'm not a fan of that style, gtr tone, groove, etc. but i can recognize the skill involved by the folks that play it well...and yeah, even tho that genre don't getting my ankles hard.....i guess i can still find some stuff that works for me on some level.

hey, at least it ain't Nascar Pop!

I like new country if that's what your
referring to as NASCAR pop. It seems with
the metal you play one or two measures
perfect then loop it back thru the whole song.
The lead is just screaming with no soul or feel
I guess I just don't have a metal soul, I'm just an
old folkie at heart. I love Dylan with just a acoustic
guitar and a harp, but that's just me.

But it seems you do like to stir the sh*t.
