That's part of the reason why they think the race card is so important.
i.e. If no minorites vote, then the republicans think that it would be a landslide win.
Or that's my take on it. I hate politics, just like I hate unfeeling people.
It's as crooked as the day is long.
Here's an interesting fact, there were many blacks - many of the ones on welfare - the people they assume went and voted for Obama because they believe he was going to pay for their gas and keep them on welfare DIDN'T. They aren't even registered. Only a small percentage of them did to help Obama get in. The rest voted generally and many of these are the more intelligent working blacks who participate in the system by working. Most of the welfare blacks, and poor people in general, don't vote because think of the reason they're on welfare? Lack of responsibility or care to participate in the system. I know this because I remember on black forums how many blacks were angry because so many black people DIDN'T vote. Obama got in because most of the country voted him in, not because of the black vote primarily.
The reason many blacks on welfare don't vote is because they're afraid to register because of police warrants, lack of education to even understand how to even apply, or just plain laziness, ignorance, substance abusers, and the ones who figure it doesn't matter whether they vote or not, the system is unfair. And this isn't limited to black people either, it is any one of this mindset - but it mostly gets attributed to black people.
And for the record, I also know plenty of educated people who don't generally vote - many extreme hippies, independents, and other people who don't participate in the general system - I'm one of them. There have been elections I didn't vote because I didn't like either candidate. I only came out to vote for issues and propositions that interested me - Marijuana legalization, gay marriage, school fundings, etc. And these are the people who come out of the woodworks during signature elections. I know a lot of groups who live outside the system, they work odd jobs, they live in their own communities, work the barter system and they are completely below the radar. And there are LOTS of them in places like Hawaii, California, the Pacific Northwest, whites who live in Mexico and outside the US who send in their votes - which I did voting for Clinton when I lived overseas. These are the people they need to consider. So I always laugh when I hear people blaming Obama on black people they believe suck off the system, when only a small percentage of these people voted in the first place.
