on one hand you have a sketch of a guitar neck kinda floating in space,
the more you add to it the more confusing it gets, so you must draw it lots of times to get your info across.
add to that other than the position of your fingers it really tells you nothing at all.
on the other hand I have a universal media that all western musicians can interpret regardless of the instrument they play.
it tells me the true key of the song, making transposing easy.
it tells me the time signature of the song we are going to play.
and we still get to decide for our selves the meter.
allowing a degree of personalization.
and in this case it tells me that this person wants to play everything in the bar an octave higher than written
it dose NOT tell me where to play the notes on my fret board allowing me room to address my particular inclination towards tone.
though this would not be true for piano.
as middle C is always middle C
