I basically followed the lead and went with a recent positive experience as related to BandMix.

I'd have a damn hard time picking one person whom had more influence.

Much of my musical growth I would have to attribute to information and support I have gained right here.

I some ways I'm ( musically ) like a child of all of the long term regulars here.

People who bash Bandmix are the same kind who blame the hammer for a bent nail.

I vote for Lynard Dylan, specifically his song titled "Death" with any luck it should go on to be a Classic in the annals of rock history.

Ive seen Paleopete in my house playing on my guitars and honestly I just enjoyed listening to him playing fingerstyle acoustic stuff, in fact I didnt even try to play with him just soak it in.

He gives me more credit than I really deserve...I'm just an old fart who happens to play decent guitar...

Paper Dog - I'm pretty much the same, the only instrument I can play at a pro level is guitar, and a little sax, not that good on sax, just mediocre at best but good enough to do a solo now and then. I've played bass and drums on stage sitting in, and even a little keys now and then but I really pretty much suck on keys...but i learned every instrument in the band room in high school, except oboe and bassoon, couldn't afford the double reeds. I've thought about it before, and I'm really not sure I could do what Neanderpaul does, even though I can play the same instruments, I can do them all separately, as in a multitrack recording situation, but to put it all together the way he does? ummmmm...probably not...

I would have had better participation with a negativity thread.

(Thanks for reaffirming my beliefs about this forum and it's shitty political nature. It's mostly old guys that want to bitch, sad to say. There's very little musical content here at any time at all and it's even a blue moon, but not a leap year. ssdd So nothing truly heart warming, right? Just not good to be good to your fellow forum musos, right? Karma is a bitch, kiddies.x2)

Anyone who said anything mean about anyone else in this thread is a dick, period. All you had to do was pump 1 person from the site you liked.
Was that really so hard? Or maybe you just don't like anyone at all?

I like everybody here and their music, Scott.. Even You and yours!

But I still think your original question was more loaded than a Syrian WMD warhead, buried under a stack of bodies at Mecca on Sept 10, 23:59:00 hours... :D

As I see it, Nobody here ...and I mean nobody... is tripping any light fantastic in the music industry. Most are getting by. You want to see a serious breakdown , and you wish to 'know' the opinions...?Well bro, opinions are useless. Here's the reality: (These are only the guys I am familiar with on the site. Feel free to add to any of the tiers...everytbody... Note: Tier does not qualify talent, just describes position of the talent

Paperdog and his Pigeon-hole Tiers of Success (Aka: Four Tears of Progress) Note: Tier 5: - Anybody with music of critical acclaim, internationally recognized

Tier 4: - Anybody with Music, which draws significant and substantial revenue, borders on critical acclaim...
- YOD (He has successfully tapped a very specific market, and has developed a significant following in many countries. He also earns more cash than everybody else on this site, combined... That's all I'm gonna say about that ;) )

Tier 3: - Anybody with Music, which draws significant revenue but is not of critical acclaim

-Jimmy Danger,
-Jeff Haley
-Johnny7
-Jericho March (Sans)
-JW
-Criptonite
-Prevost
-Chaeya
-RG (though I suspect his work is in studio)

Tier 2: - Anybody with Music, which does not draw significant revenue, has no critical acclaim, but has potential for Tier 3 rating.

-Paperdog
-Scott
-Neanderpaul
-Lynard
-JC
-Slacker (Only cause he 's prolly just takin a break fer a spell...)
-Penguin
-Glenn
-Vampier
-Dane

Tier 1: - Anybody with music or without music, no revenue, no acclaim, no evidence of movement toward a 2nd tier

-Vinny,
-Glambert
-All BOts

SO when you ask a question like "who on band mix floats your boat" It just seems painfully futile. I would like to point out, Jimmy Danger has taken Neanderpaul under his wing, and rumor has it they are cooking up something together for fun... NOTE the MENTORSHIP that Jimmy has offered, from his position on the Tier map, respectively. With That, Jimmy (and I mean this sincerely,) My hat is off to you.

SO ther you guys have it!

This is why I haet that quetsion you asked, Scott!

LOL You just have to throw out one name and one link, so I can listen to what you like.

It's not that in depth, but Dog do what you want to. I still like to read what you write.

I just detest the BAND WAGON bunch. No individuality to speak of and copy answers like there is a right and wrong answer here. There is no right and wrong on this one, it's all subjective.

Besides, I got someone who means something looking at your submissions.
(and obviously it's not me) lol

Grind on people, lots to do and little time to do it in..

Write, mix, master, repeat..like washing your hair, just 1000x more complicated. lol

Nope, I am a dumb-ass but I talk to everyone that's worth talking to, especially on the outside.
And I do get out locally a little and talk sh*t to whomever will listen. ssdd.

Occasionally I run into people that can push your career in the right direction. So when I determine that I might know 2 entities that might be similar, I tend to try to link em. That also includes dragging people to bmix to look for "diamonds in the rough".

If I can give anyone a reasonable push, you know I will.

I'm out for #1, but sometimes they want a different flavor than "Rocky Road". LOL

"To each their own", just don't ask me to produce anyone's music.
I have neither the tech skills, nor the inclination but if I like your music I will always give you a push as long as I can match similar musical needs.

"You never can tell what might occur once in a blue moon".
(And it has nothing to do with what I think in general, so don't call me out.)

LOL Sans! The entire BM forum is good company, brother. :)

The Tiers, they just illustrate the current position of musicians with respect to their journey toward critical acclaim and gettin paid as bonafide artists...

Slash (in my opinion) would have rated a 5 but the reality is he's a 4. But he could be a 5 , if he worked at it. He recently made an attempt with a new solo release (I think he's got potential now that he's free from axel rose) ...Besides, anybody who's mom slept with David Bowie, aka hollywood domestic style has to be bound for something bigger down the road
