It would be better put as, " I have no regrets about the decision to go the direction I went. I'm happy and fulfilled, spiritually and mentally. I wouldn't change a thing, given the chance".
That isn't as accurate in my case as my previous statement was. No need to correct it. The Lord gave me a music career, when I had quit trying, that is much greater than anything I had ever hoped for before. It's certainly doesn't look as glamorous to most people as what some of my friends who went on to stardom in the secular world did, but again, it was my choice and I don't regret it even for a second. I live abundantly blessed.
No, I have no idea what commercial you're talking about. Who has time to watch TV? I'm always driving or setting up, or singing. I've missed my beloved Dallas Cowboys for the last 10 years. I get to go home only a few days per month and try to spend that with the family (or taking care of "honey-dos")
Of course, there are "other" ways to make a living as a musician than to do kareoke nights. I just think the guy's answer to the economic situation of not having gigs (because kareoke has become more popular than live bands) should be at least respected, if not embraced by some who are trying to make a living.
And speaking of friends who are doing well as musicians from my last post, I went to see this guy in concert in Kalisz Poland last Saturday night, and then he came to hear me sing at a church the next morning. We have become very good friends quickly.
Hung out with him in Warsaw my last night there. Wherever we went people's eyes got big when they saw him, but he gave no indication he was impressed with himself.
I don't really keep up with who is who these days, so I starting checking him out with Lufthansa wifi about 33,000 feet over Iceland on the way home yesterday.
Miatek is really much greater than I already thought he was.
Check a couple of these videos out. Especially this first one
