I happen to be one of those guitarist who enjoy the stupid hard songs. So I never ever feel that im good enough for a band XD.

As of now I see myself more as a writer then just a player. but my skills aren't on the level that my mind is at. i guess it's my fault for liking those crazy Finland bands

thanks guys. u gave some great advice. I have a hard time deciding where I want to go as a musician. I honestly have more time Writing and recording stuff then I do just playing songs.

I believe that ^ is something one would best determine with time and direct contact.
Whom knows what relationships are naught for lack of patient observation.

Our ( the band ) probationary period for perspective members is indefinite, as in no set time. And we let prospective members know right up front that they are not "members" until we say you are and you accept the terms of responsibility.
You and we will know when your a member or not. Like trying a set of old keys in a lock. You will feel when the right one works.

Go out, meet people and above all play a little.
The open mics in general settled me out over time.
I wouldn't trade those experiences for anything..

Everyone finds their own way..the question is "what is right for you"?

To the OP, if you are developing as an artist I think you need to play with as many different people in a live situation as you can to further develop yourself.

Get into some sort of gigging band to develop your chops, one gig is worth 100 practice sessions.

Look up a guy named Shawn Lane, he is dead but was just a monster guitarist, he played in a simple Top 40 cover band for years called the Willys, I used to check them out on thursday nights, cause they were around the corner from the place I lived at the time.

So my advice play with anybody and everyone you can til you develop your own musical identity.
