I was raised in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. And am still a "member" locally.

More, I consider myself to be in the "Church" as in a member of the universal body of Christ.
Legalism is not salvation, Jesus Christ is salvation.

George, Body of Christ, lamb's book of life certainly.

I was just curious.

I do not hold to the same biblical or scientific convictions. Are your beliefs in harmony with Lutheran teaching? My wife used to be a Lutheran. She used to drink some, too. Both Bible and science changed her mind on that one.

I never drank, but for a very short season in my early 20s. I hate even the smell of alcoholic beverages now. Hits my stomach like a brick.

Simple pleasures. Koi in the pond. Butterflies on the Butterfly bushes. Hummingbirds at the feeders. First signs of cukes on the vines. The flavor of Johnny's Northeaster pole beans right off the vine. A recording session that stuns me when I listen back to it later. The Milky Way at night. Pizza! Which I can't eat anymore because I'm gluten intolerant (but I cheat now and then - and pay for it later).

Get yourself some gluten free flour and make your own dough. I've been making my own pizza for years.

I love water gardens and have had 2. this is the first house I haven't had one. I keep threatening to build another one. I like the same things as you but add Alcohol 2 to 3 times a week. Never during a gig though. 8)

Some are, some are not. I try not to let doctrine get in the way of TRUTH.
Or create a separation between myself and the other members of THE BODY.
Christ Jesus is the way to heaven. Not someone else recipe of religious rite.

My thoughts are foggy but I seem to remember Jesus turned water to wine.

If its good enough for him then Im sure its good enough for me.

One of the people in my church had a vineyard, and it was an anual thing to go down and bless the grapes, they would have a tub to walk on the grapes and off course some wine was flowing freely.

Our audience in my band these days includes a lot of our church members, Im sure after a sat night gig, some of them arent feeling too good in the pews the next day, I rarely go the sunday after a gig, by the time I get home, its ussually around 4-5 am, so Im taking my beauty nap, and of course a quick shave!

Well, now you really have me curious George (no pun intended).

What is the difference between truth and doctrine? Teachings are either true or false, based on a standard. If a teaching is true, it is truth. What, then, is the difference?

Yeah, I've done the gluten-free pizza thing for awhile. It's okay, but not close to the real thing. The flours I have used are a pain to work with because of the starches they use - sticky, so they hold things together, like gluten does. But the end result is not a chewy crust, and it just doesn't have the flavor. So, I just skip it. Spending the first 30 years of my life in the New Haven, CT area you get used to fine appiiza. I can appreciate the work people put into alternatives, but they just aren't as pleasurable to eat.
