We rehearsed last night for the second time, and it's coming together quickly. Amazing group of players, we did "Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen", "Give A Little Bit - Supertramp", "My Woman From Tokyo - Deep Purple", "Is It My Body? - Alice Cooper", "Down - 311", "Panic in Detroit - David Bowie", "Aqualung - Jethro Tull" and a few others. It would be cool to find another player, ideally a keyboard player that also plays sax but another good guitarist would work. We want to play a wide variety of classic rock that most other bands wouldn't touch. I'm geeked!

Jimmy if you guys do any recording I would love to hear Born To Run, thats one of my favs. Did you ever listen to Frankie Goes To Hollywoods version? Had an updated bass tone to my ears.

Love the set list, sounds like fun, Keep On Rockin!

Interesting mix of tunes! I think you may be pushing to find a combo sax/keyboard player, though!

yeah, cool tunes. will you be going for the note for note cover approach or putting your spin and arrangements on these tunes?

BTW...i'm lucky enough to work w TWO great sax players who both do a fine job on keys. and no....you can't have 'em.

@John no I never heard that version, I'll look for it. IMO it's one of the great rock and roll tunes of all times, it's a rush to play it.

@Mike keyboard/sax guys are around but the band has to be well-established before you'll be able to land one. Once we get working we'll look, but realistically we'll probably add another guitarist to fill it out.

@PG we're going to do the original arrangements in the original key, but with limited melodic intrumentation (me) they will be scaled to fit. Now send me one of those sax players, don't be greedy!

Sounds like a blast Jimmy. I have always wanted to do "Panic in Detroit". That could probably be your theme song these days after hearing about what's going down there. I need me some Keys. They just make music life good.

I used to sing "Panic in Detroit" but it's a toughie to sing and play. I love having a lead vocalist and just do backups.

Detroit is in bad shape but still a great city. A lot of yuppies and dinks are buying property in the city and fixing them up.

Thanks Chaeya but we only plan on working once a month, since my other band The Farleys also plays once a month. With two rehearsals a week and two gigs a month I'm going to be busy enough!

sorry jimmy, it ain't gonna happen. as glennie has already figured out i'm selfish, i only think of myself.....and the fact that you're an american and he's proven that i hate americans, well that's only one MORE reason why i ain't gonna share!

buuuut seriously....(and smart guy you are you likely know this) while most keyboardists don't play sax...most sax dudes and dudettes DO play keys (w varying skills).
