not the time for that. not the place. let's show some respect and restraint folks.. please.

I didn't log in and can see your post! For once I agree with you!

I just got off the phone with my surviving brother - he said it turns out two old ladies tried to help and are likely the people mentioned in the paper. I was probably too harsh - so very upset by this.

It wouldn't have mattered if Jim was armed. He was taken by surprise, nailed and then kicked to death before he could even react. the guy was 6'2" at 300 pounds - my brother was 56 years old and while I know he had a scrap in him still - he never got the chance.

My brother Dan asked the cops just what Jim had done (if anything) to provoke such a savage attack. "He got a bag of frozen mixed vegetables out of a freezer..." The cops told my brother it would be best if he didn't view the body.

The VFW is lending us a hall for a memorial service. Jim was a SeeBee back in the day and was well liked in town.

Mike, I understand how you feel, I really do. It's that phone call you just never want to get and it's something you will never get over. To this day I don't know how my bass player and friend was killed, and I've said that I don't want to know because I think it would hurt too bad. And its so often good people who have done so much for others who get the brunt of this bullshit. I'm Chaeya at Yahoo, so please send me your address.

Hugs,

Chaeya

MikeTalbot wrote:This is a terrible thing to post but it there is nothing in it that isn't true - we all go one about Americans. Wonderful, freedom loving independent Americans. Well - where the f**k were these wonderful Americans last night? These brave, independent couragous Americans?

My brother Jim had just gotten back to his home in Elkton Md. Been working a job up in DC. Had a beer with my other brother then went to the supermarket to buy some food for dinner.

While in the frozen vegetable section, a guy he didn't know, sucker punched him and then methodically kicked his brains right out of his head. It's all on tape. Not a single goddamn "American" raised a hand to help him. Nobody. in a crowded grocery store nobody could be found with an ounce of guts. Nobody who would even throw a can of soup at the bad guy...

The freak who did it is in jail for Murder 1. But not a single f**k damn person, not one, raised a hand to help my brother. He would have helped them. He has done it before - got involved and helped others at great risk. I know it because I was with him when we faced down a bunch of thugs who were attacking some old folks down in FL. But nobody was there for him. Nobody.

Where is my brother!!!? Why is he dead?!!! How could this happen?!!

Talbot

Mike I am so very sorry for you and your family. I'm speechless...Please take care while you get through this... My prayers are with you.

...Mike Talbot ... I apologize if my Post in any way offended or upset you or your family in this tragedy. I simply related my feelings. If I have not offended you then Planet Guy let me say to you that you are the worm not I.

so, what makes ME a worm....the fact i choose NOT to use mike's loss as a platform to get up on MY high horse and spew my politcal views here?

that i suggested that other's might do the same out of respect?

very interesting criteria you have for name calling. if that makes me a worm. great. what does it make you?

now, go share your hypocritical conservative views, and
"simply relate your feelings" and take a dump in some other thread for chrissakes.

show a little restraint.

Planet Guy,You are a traitor to American values. You would never help out an an American fellow citizen. You are a gutless , spineless person.
I'm really saddened that some one as smart as you could be so stupid.

Sad, Sad, Sad.

Talbot, sorry about your brother,,, Life is short, and life is hard. Enjoy it while you can.

Mike, I'm very sorry for your loss. I also lost my brother a few years back but it was from his own doing through substance abuse combined with his diabetes. I'm also sorry that some here decided to turn this thread into another argument.
