This is a terrible thing to post but it there is nothing in it that isn't true - we all go one about Americans. Wonderful, freedom loving independent Americans. Well - where the f**k were these wonderful Americans last night? These brave, independent couragous Americans?

My brother Jim had just gotten back to his home in Elkton Md. Been working a job up in DC. Had a beer with my other brother then went to the supermarket to buy some food for dinner.

While in the frozen vegetable section, a guy he didn't know, sucker punched him and then methodically kicked his brains right out of his head. It's all on tape. Not a single goddamn "American" raised a hand to help him. Nobody. in a crowded grocery store nobody could be found with an ounce of guts. Nobody who would even throw a can of soup at the bad guy...

The freak who did it is in jail for Murder 1. But not a single f**k damn person, not one, raised a hand to help my brother. He would have helped them. He has done it before - got involved and helped others at great risk. I know it because I was with him when we faced down a bunch of thugs who were attacking some old folks down in FL. But nobody was there for him. Nobody.

Where is my brother!!!? Why is he dead?!!! How could this happen?!!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother, it's senseless. I hope the guy who did it is tortured with it for the rest of his life.

Where are the Americans? Watching violence on movies, practicing violence on video games, practicing violence at the shooting range. People are impatient and selfish, and the economy has made the whole mess worse. People shoot each other here over kool-aid and condoms; it's out of control. Even on this board people escalate hate to near-violence over differences in ideology and politics. Sad world.

Yes a very sad world and another very sad event.

I don't care what people say or what they think about this statement but it holds true to my heart. "Revenge is sweet"

This is why I am always armed.

I have no words adequately to express my feelings on the loss of your brother.

I agree with George! Guess what would have happened if that were a supermarket in Texas?

I'm so sorry about your brother. I know you're beyond upset, but I don't believe people just stood around and watched, like they said, this happened very quickly. The paper stated that a witness intervened and one followed the guy which was how he got arrested. If this guy was on drugs, it would have taken a weapon to subdue him and even then. Cops have emptied their guns on people high on meth and PCP. There have been plenty of people who have intervened during attacks. Not too long ago a guy stopped a fight between a guy and his girlfriend and the man stabbed him numerous times, luckily he didn't die.

Mike,

I am so sorry to hear about your brother. It makes me angry that there was not a single righteous person in the store to help your brother.

...Mike I am very sorry to hear both what happened to your Brother and the circumstances of his death. If I was there I would have helped even not knowing it was your Brother. I have always made it a policy to jump in on such things. I would not be able to live with myself otherwise. My Wife always gets upset when I do this but has learned to accept it.

Of course there will be a multitude of excuses from everyone there but the majority are cowards in my personal opinion. There are the "I did not know if he had a gun" etc etc etc we have all heard them before . It maters not if there was a gun or weapon ... the simple truth is that if several people would have jumped in then it would have been stopped. If someone was armed they could have stopped it (without killing) just shoot them in the leg. People are now so out of touch with nature and reality that they have lost this quality almost completely now.

Please know that the next time I see something like this happen ...again I will jump in but I will do it faster because of your Brother. You have my sympathies as do the ret of your family. This kind of tragedy goes on everyday and at times several times a day now. It is even sanctioned by the government, police and political filth on many occasions.

Where are the Americans ... Where are the Patriots ...Where are the Humans. Soon 'Gone to the graveyard every one" Each and every one of us will be directly "touched" in a similiar way that you have been, now that the river is running increasingly more swiftly. Take care of yourself. A friend.

Thank you all. Your kind words are very much appreciated.

I just got off the phone with my surviving brother - he said it turns out two old ladies tried to help and are likely the people mentioned in the paper. I was probably too harsh - so very upset by this.

It wouldn't have mattered if Jim was armed. He was taken by surprise, nailed and then kicked to death before he could even react. the guy was 6'2" at 300 pounds - my brother was 56 years old and while I know he had a scrap in him still - he never got the chance.

My brother Dan asked the cops just what Jim had done (if anything) to provoke such a savage attack. "He got a bag of frozen mixed vegetables out of a freezer..." The cops told my brother it would be best if he didn't view the body.

The VFW is lending us a hall for a memorial service. Jim was a SeeBee back in the day and was well liked in town.

i really hate seeing this thread being politicized w folks expressing their views about "gun control" and insensitive crap like "this kind of violence is sanctioned by the government, police and political filth" ...and anyone else using this sad and tragic event as an op to get on their soapbox and spew their views.

not the time for that. not the place. let's show some respect and restraint folks.. please.
