...Planet Guy ... I checked out the videos on your profile. Solid clean playing. The sound on the upright was very good. Obviously you are an "upright kind of guy" and one of those that can be thrown in and be able to play on a high level with adaptability. Not my favourite type of music as you know but nevertheless very well done. Very calm. This is no big deal but I thought I would express it anyway ... I did not like the drummer's playing on the first video ... you were on the electric bass guitar. The droms and bass are always unstppable when working together providing a backbone for everything else. You were laying down a very solid bass line and it seemed ... to me that the drummer was playing almost a lead. He was not overplaying and was very sparse which seemed weird to me as well but he was not "driving" with the bass and seemed to be playing over the top most of the time. Pardon my ignorance if this was the actual intention ... it succeeded if it was.

Perhaps this is what was desired I do not know. It felt like to meI wanted to see a much "closer" "closeness" between bass and drums. No big deal and excellent musicianship all around.

You are one of those musicians that I term "soft". Do not take it in a bad way for it is not. The drummer in my last band I called "The Lord of Softness". Be made the playing look easy and smooth flowing ... very calm and solid and well timed. This provides an excellent platform from which to work from. His sense of dynamics like yours is well perpetuated on a very wide range. This makes it easier for everyone else including the vocalist. I am most probably singing to the choir.

One of the most plausible explanations for Vampire myths is the disease porphyria, which occurred frequently in Transylvania.

That drummer sounds great! He's got decent chops, taste, sensitivity and dynamics. If you can't appreciate this style, then you would probably feel the same way about drummers like Billy Higgins, Ben Riley, or Joe Morello. The whole trio sounds very together. Good musicians all around.

vamp, vinnie...thanks for checking the videos. music is obviously a super subjective thing esp when it comes to what gets one person's ankles hard and what fails to do the same for another person.

vamp, i won't debate you on your views on the drummer because your views are just as a valid as anyone else's.

i will say he is one of the best drummers i've been lucky enough to work with. i've worked w monte in different bands for around 25 yrs now and in all that time your's are the first comments (i've heard) that weren't positively glowing about his playing.

i know this style of music isn't something you regularly listen to but as a bass player who's played w a gazillion drummers over the yrs...trust me monte can drive the *@#$ out of any band.

and getting a good hookup has never been a problem.

vamp, i wonder if you heard monte w more typical instrumentation (than bas/sax/drums) if you'd think otherwise.

I'd agree with most of that, but not the part about engaging the problem as warriors. War, violence, is their game, the tool they most expertly play to their advantage. It is exactly the catalyst that has empower them to this present degree! What is happening today is fruit of a plan 60's years, or more, in the developing. The only chance to thwart their plan, is to outsmart them, outcreate them. But you may be limiting potential for unity with the vampier/warrior calling for BLOOD Approach. Taking away your guns to provoke a domestic destabilization to justify further global intervention (to save us from "ourselves"), perhaps even by some non-state players, would help with goals of depopulating the planet, and create, or at least greatly add to, the SHOCK that is so useful to their strategies. .... just sayin'

Planet Guy ... thanks for your Post. The unity I speak of is more like everyone breathes air ... and are in unity regarding that with reference to planet earth. Also we are all musicians and in that there is great unity. The Truth is much more than mine or any other's views and you know that. There are many Truths that need to be addressed and they have nothing to do with my views/visions or yours.

I expected no debate re the drummer... just voiced my impressions ... not putting them out there as Truth but acknowledging that he is good and that my expertise in that genre of music is almost nonexistent ... being Truthful.
