Just saw your Vids...Outstanding Jazz man...A class act to say the least. ;) You and your band mates are top-notch.

I take back everything I said about being a hobbiest... :P 8)

For the record I am not a bigot...but I have been known to be ethnocentric...(I admit it) If you were the only English/Irish guy in a town of Chuco Latino persuasion. you might get a lil homesick too. and BTW My being E/I will explain why I always want to overthow myself ;)

Kudos on your music bro!

Watched the jazzy video ... playing his bass, he would appear to be able to play circles around you Mr Haley. I think maybe you got too much Dunning-Kruger effect going on under your mullet to realize it.

paperdog. apology accepted....but only if you'll accept mine as well.

(in case you or anyone hasn't seen it) in another thread after a similar note from J7and J-Hale i posted:

J- Haley and Johnny7band....thanks to both of you for putting the sh*t slinging aside (not that i've been exactly angelic either) to weigh in something of importance to us all...music. and thanks for the props. always nice getting a nod of approval from your peers.

i agree....we're all big enough to agree to disagree on politics but wow....as if we needed any confirmation or further proof of it....is there ANYTHING that brings folks together better than a shared love of music????

and thanks for the laugh re: overthrowing yourself...nice!

wow...less than 24 hrs ago you were going on about how much you dug my bass playing.....i don't THINK my playing has slipped all that much from yesterday but what do i know????

as far as "smoking" anyone.... sorry man, i don't have that gunslinger attitude when it comes to music. for me music ain't about competiition. but just to play along....

I WILL SMOKE HIS PUNK @SS ON GUITAR!
....don't you think it depends on what kind of music we're playing? J, d'ya play much bebop, gypsy jazz, or much fingerstyle solo jazz gtr????

look, re. my skills or lack of 'em i do what i do and folks appreciate it or not. it ain't about who's better or faster, or......

i'm just damned lucky to be playing w some great players (great folks too) who make me look good.

and J...open E is for pussies!

Done...Accepted Peace Let the Music reign ;)

PS Jeff Haley is a great, down to Earth guy...If I were gonna run for prez, I'd want him on my side... But for now, I'm just gonna grab a bag of Pop corn and watch this unfold ...

Wow Thanks PlanetGuy! I am Honored. That video is very special to me...as it de-marks a very salient lesson, which I learned about musician ship. (I am a novice when it comes to stage) Moments before that Video was shot, I had never seen these guys in my life... That bar...hadn't stepped foot in it for damn near 35 years , before that week.

When I set up, plugged in and started belting out my song, they slipped right in on it like they'd done this in their sleep... I was so damn impressed...and absolutely blown away. Among things, I learned that 1,4,5 really is a valid formula... :)

BTW , I'm running a Song-writing Contest there for the Blues/R& B genre portion of it, this coming September. I got 5 very seasoned blues artists on the judges panel... Its gonna be an awesome night. The winner of that one (Best Original Blues) will go on to another venue I have booked, the following week.. Will go head to head with others for "Best original Song" of the conetst.
I am stoked!

you're welcome or as the youngsters today always say "no problem" (so just exactly when DID that become the de facto response to "thanks"?....someone hands you change after you paid for your coffee..."thanks"...."no problem".....well of COURSE it ain't a problem!!!!)

sorry, excuse the rant.

man, i never would have guessed that wasn't your regular working band!

good luck w the contest.
