hey, i'm all for being civil. and not just when you or someone else decides it's ok.

but c'mon.....i'm just calling 'em as i see 'em. i've been on more than a few different "music forums" over the yrs.....but my, my, the amount of swagger, chest beating, baiting, picking fights, and name calling that goes on around here???? yikes.

trust me....i was not trying to stir the pot w my "reg sched" post. (though i do see how it might be taken as such) i'm all for letting this thread return to some degree of civility.

YOU ARE JUST AN ASSSHOLE.
Now I'm laughing.
You are one of the saddest people I have ever met.... WRONG,,,,
GO READ YOUR OWN POST'S.
Tried to give you an out. Sorry dude. I really don't get along well with arrogant musicians.

you tried to give me out???? how was that....by complimenting my bass playing? or by making declarative statements about me being a teacher, college educated, and having liberal parents? (all wrong)

damn, i'd have thought by now you'd used to having your mistakes pointed out to you! sorry...didn't realize you were so sensitive about that!

glenny you're obviously someone that's spent a lifetime being proud of their ignorance. so, why change now, eh?

you're making it obvious that flexiibilty of thought, common reasoning, and just plain good manners are skills sets you're not likely to ever develop.

hey, whatever works for ya bro.

read my own posts.....why? to see the error of my flawed thinking and amend my evil 'merica hatin' ways? to learn how to properly hold a proper discussion w someone w different views? nah, think i'll pass.

as far as being sad......seems your angry, pissy ways, negative views, and name calling makes a stronger case for YOU being the sad one.

as for me being arrogant....nah, you confuse confidence w arrogance. guess you think that anyone has the spine to disagree w you is arrogant.

forgive for trying to educate you on a few things. my baaaaad.
if you accept the philosophies of the neocons then GLENNY will kiss your ass all day long, make 1 remark about Obama doing good things for the country and he will turn on you like a rabid dog..

Talbot,,, It is exciting. Once again American entrepreneurs have proven the absolute ability of SPIRIT.
Sadly,,, the biggest obstacle in their way, is our own GOVERNMENT.

50 years ago OUR country set out to do the impossible. People are still saying what a waste.

We all went hunting together as a nation, we conceived and overcame insurmountable obstacles in our space program,,,, The cost and uncertainty were tremendous. The long term hidden pay back has also been tremendous.

Today,, If it has become more important to hand out free money than to walk forward,,,,, we have become nothing. BUT,,,, That is were it gets to be so exciting. When all the big government says , "NO MORE",,, American Spirit steps in. YES WE CAN.

This is gonna sound Crazy... But dumping NASA was a good thing... Like other folks said..It was a huge drain on the tax coffers, and its not like NASA cant go private and hire all the engineers back (albeit at modified salaries and perks) . Maybe it was a big favor to the US to get the the govt 's finger out out of the NASA Pie. I still contend that the deadly shuttle explosion would NEVER have happened if NASA was a free agent in the equation. But the Govt kills everything it touches, including the very safety it professes to support.

Only Time will tell...

Grant, the budget for the entire space program accounts for 1% of the U.S. budget 1% dude. Its okay for us to take in 20 million illegal aliens and support them. Its okay for us to feed a bunch of lazy people that want to do NOTHING but lay around and bread, yet we as a nation can't spend 1% of the budget to advance Engineering and science?

Yes Jeff I hear ya..But... 1-3% for close to 60 years . It took Oppenheimer Less than a decade to develop Nuke weapons technology... and he did it with but a handful of partners, on a strict military budget. My point being that his inventions were/are not a perpetual drain of resources. I say the same thing about cancer Research today... I think they hold back real advancement... cause to do so ensures a gravey train for the top end directors of such programs...
In Free Private enterprise, we just proved with this rover event, that NASA employees can still be players, but now, We might be able to actually put a man on mars much sooner than ever before... and those employees will have some real work cut out for them...
(You do realize that NASA is a buracracy, that might have actually impeded the growth of many engineers...due to inefficiencies? )
:D 8)

By the way I watched some of your vids just before leaving work! I like that Jazz Oh yeah sounds great. Look just because we have different views don't make you a bad musician. Your playing reminds me of this black chick I used to play with. She introduced me to my now wife. She was playing with Michael Ward. Have you heard of him? That sax player kind of reminds me of Kyle Turner you hear of him? These are some of the jazzers from my neck of the woods! Kick @ss bass playing!

Planet,
Yep we can agree to disagree on politics. Many of my musician friends are "deep left" Hollywood types and we just check our political leanings at the door.
You are obviously a serious player and I liked your live tracks also. Very diverse stuff. A little shortstop jazz fusion bass player is gigging in town with my favorite drummer of all time (Vinnie Colaiuta) and I am playing that night so will have to miss it. Damn.

J- Haley and Johnny7band....thanks to both of you for putting the sh*t slinging aside (not that i've been exactly angelic either) to weigh in something of importance to us all...music. and thanks for the props. always nice getting a nod of approval from your peers.

i agree....we're all big enough to agree to disagree on politics but wow....as if we needed any confirmation or further proof of it....is there ANYTHING that brings folks together better than a shared love of music????

another thing we can agree on... vinnie c. is a bad ass! bummer you're gonna miss him...but hey, it's cos you gotta gig and not cos yer stuck having dinner at the inlaws! :)

J, that black chick you used to play w that my playing reminds you of....that's for good reason! that's ME! see, i took all the free sex change money obama was giving away to gender confused individuals and voila! it's great to be in touch w the the man that i always knew was fighting to get out!

hey, i kid. i kid. seems like i've heard the name michael ward...any good links or examples of his stuff you can steer me towards?
