prolly was not a tube type Marshall.. Marshall is very proud of their tube amps.. my Fender DeVille works good enough and has tubes, nice warm tube sound..and was over 600 dollars back when, think they are over $900.00 today..

Don't try and suck up DANE.

All you do is talk BS and the Marshal this guy was playing through was all tube

You are just amazing in your prejudicial knowledge.

I was just trying to share something musical and right away you have to jump in with some more of your crap.

Don't piss me off, I will use all of your intelligence, to help you see just how silly you can be.

I've not had a chance to use it in the band setting as of yet but I am fully expecting it to do quite well.

In as much as it is a simple class A amp at only 5 watts, volume, treble, mid & bass controls it's appeal to me much as JW states for the OTT.

I told my wife before I ever unboxed it that I'd send it back for refund if it really did not just WOW me over a period of a couple of weeks.

This afternoon she as we sat at the table together she pushed the owners manual at me and said " Happy birthday, you need to keep that amp, it sounds sweet "

She's right. It did sound sweet with my ES339.
Still, I'll reserve judgment until I see how well it works in context of our music.

Glen I have a little Subway Rocket Mesa amp, these sell for around 3-400, they dont make them anymore, but they are basically a stripped Express, they have the same preamp circuit, and are way simpler, and its gets really loud, all the cover songs on my player were recorded with this amp. When I was doing sit in gigs I would carry it, my guitar over my shoulder and my pedal board in the other hand. The Subway probably weighs in at 30 lbs or so.

I took my Triple, my Roadster and the Subway Rocket, and in the end for recording the ROcket just sounded better than the big boys.

At home I have been kinda running a stereo setup using the Rocket into a 4x12 and then the Big Mesa on the other side, sounds killer.

As someone said that Orange Tiny Terror is an awesome little amp.

But there are so many small amps, that are reasonably priced Im sure you can find something that will work.

Thanks John. I was actually going to pick up a rocket a few years ago. I was talked out of it. Why.?????? who knows.
Sounds like you have quite a RIG you can work with. COOL.
The only reason I like Mesa so much is because I never heard a bad one.
I'm not anti MARSHALL, just that they have put out many amps to fit the budget. Mike6966 shared some playing through Marshalls top amp. It was really GOOD.
Thanks for sharing some good Ideas.

If I spent a couple of hours in GC my wife would KILL me when I got home, because we would be in some serious debt! These days I go in that place with Blinders on like a mule! Can't see anything but straight ahead! I head RIGHT to the counter ask for strings & picks and when my stomach gets that giddy feeling (G.A.S.) I giddy up out of that place like a cat being chased by a pit bull!

Glen I hooked up the Rocket to my 4x12 and I may use it at the next gig. That amp just sounds awesome, if you plug a les paul in it, you tend to have to roll off all the tone controls it gets spikey sounding, but it is such a responsive amp to guitar volume and pick attack. I kick in my TS in front of this amp and it just sparkles to me ears, something totally different in the feel of it and my Triple Rec.

If you start looking for one, dont confuse it with the Subway Blues amp, it doesnt have a master volume and just wont get the crunch sounds that the Rocket will.

You guys are so right. I have three items on my wish list now - a bass, a guitar and an amp.

but twenty minutes in guitar center that list grows to a whole page! 8)

I think there must be a secret women's society that hands the blinders out when they get married.
