I think that your voice is amazing, and even the music is good, but you have chosen the wrong equipment. You should try getting an electric in the mix. I don't like the acoustic distortion at all, sounds really flat, and cheesy. You could make such a smooth sound with what your playing if you had a nice tele, or jaguar, or even a strat, but the former would suite you the best. And don't think that I always promote fender, because I don't, I'm really a gibson guy, but you would sound great with and old tele. Over all though, good stuff.

Thanx for the vox compliment! I think the sound of the guitar is pretty bad, but I believe it was due to not running through an amp. I was running direct into the recording computer. My guitar actually has electric strings and an electric pickup from a peavey t-27. If you will check out this vid ...

or check out the 3rd track in my profile called "long way home." It's the same guitar and same setup, through the same rat pedal but through an amp on both of those tracks. Also the 2nd song in my profile here "Jackson" is the same setup but it too was run direct. I think it sounds good too. Somehow the green screen session gave me a lousy guitar sound. It might have been a stereo plug/mono plug "argument" That has caused some bizarre frequency cancellations for me in the past. If there's one thing I appreciate it's straight shootin' comments like yours. That can be hard to do sometimes. I appreciate you taking the time to review that track. I would eally love to get your input on the guitar sound specifically on "(come on) let the good times roll" yes the hendrix cover written by E. King on Hendrix' electric lady land album and the 2nd and 3rd trax in my profile here. Thanks man!! :D

I know this is like 7 or 8 years old, but I'm new to the site.. i searched qotsa and found this, which I'm confused about. What 3 songs did that guy listen to? Lol anyways, i liked the song! Not usually the genre i prefer but you are definitely talented. The only thing i would critique is maybe the bass.. It's the most underappreciated instrument in my opinion, and spicing it up a little does wonders for a song. Maybe try not to play along with the guitar, bc guitar will drown it out. My uncle told me that when i was young and its so true.. Im interested in the third track mentioned by the other guy now

I don't know. Haven't watched/ listened to those songs. Neanderpaul shows up once a while. His stuff is good. Last one he posted was his young daughter singing on one of his songs.

Are you a musician, extratellectual? QOTSA is pretty goddamn awesome. I was just rockin their last two albums on the walkman in Costco and Safeway yesterday. People left me alone. They could tell. That geezer is listening to something INTENSE.

Disco was revived two decades ago and it was totally amazeballs.

Back to your argument. Are you saying QOTSA* is like Them, Van Morrison's old band?

Yes, Black Sabbath are the root of most hard rock, but with the original Birmingham Rapper, MC John "Ozzy" Osbourne on the mic, they really don't qualify as "the same as" metal bands that followed, because most of them had lead singers who could establish a rhythm and/ or melody that was separate from what the guitars were playing. Biggest influence? Hell yes. Just like them? Better not be.

Ya dig? :D

*Queens Of The Stone Age, for those who didn't get the reference. The other band of Josh Homme (Eagles Of Death Metal, Paris, anyone?), besides another band with John Paul Jones and Dave Grohl

to me....yeah, you can the Hendrix influence but i always felt like SRV was copping Albert King's bit. he actually lifted a huge amount of AK's stuff and would sometimes plug in an AK solo pretty much note for note!
