Sorry about the Alanis Morrisette quote, but it seems kind of strange asking a question about online services-on an online forum. Anyway, I recently wandered into a site called musicSUBMIT. It sounds good (They always do) as far as exposure is concerned, but I'm wary about signing the proverbial deal with the devil. Any experiences or recommendations?

On another note, I FINALLY got some of my songs uploaded on this site. Take a listen and let me know what you think.

Never heard of it. Since I'm a noob here, has anybody gotten anywhere using this site?

Depends on how you define "gotten anywhere". I have never gotten a single bite from here when I was looking to fill out my band (oddly enough, craigslist was alot more helpful) but the conversation that goes on here can be very educational and funny.

I agree. I've only been on here a short time, and have already received some helpful advice. It can be pretty humorous as well. On the downside, I've contacted several musicians in my area by using this site, with no response.

Two of the guys in my band came from here. So, it's been great for me.

Did you change the default picture? That's what I did, and the avatar went away. I wanted to set a different avatar but it didn't work. Had to re-upload this picture and set it as default to get an avatar back.

LOL...Yes I have! I put it back to the original pic that was working for a few days, I went and changed it and since then, no matter what pic I put up, it don't work.... I guess mine will be the eternal question mark!

Hey, Crip2Nite, try opening those 'bad' pictures w/ the standard "Windows Paint" program.
Don't use any other program for this test, use "Windows Paint," which comes with almost every computer . . .
.
Don't do any editing to the pictures, but try this:

Select "Save As," rename the pictures, and save them as standard JPGs (even if they ALREADY are JPGs . . .).
.
There are different 'flavors' of JPG, and you mught have saved those particular pictures in one of the less - used JPG formats.
