Jahva, I like your songs, good luck.

I agree with Jake here. On practically every site that I've tried, I'm always stuck dealing with a bunch of trolls, and big time professional musician jerks who think they know everything and try to convince me to go along with what they want to do.

I would like try sites that don't allow that kind of stuff to happen. That is one of the main reasons why I haven't been able to find these music buddies I'm looking for.

What Do YOU THINK YOU ARE?
I read your posts in LIFE IN THE USA.
You are not making friends and that is exactly what you need to do.
You are a sad case,, Jake is just pitiful.

I mean really there must be over a million music forums on the net,
best I can tell, this is kind of a retirement home."

Actually there aren't a whole lot of good LOCAL music forums where I can connect with other keyboard players and guitar who like more of the music I enjoy.

The first two sites I tried were Baton Rouge Rocks and Craigslist, and both sites were duds. The guys on Baton Rouge Rocks were your stuck up heavy metal, hard rock, and classic rock musicians who are still at the messing around stage who play music to try to impress their girlfriend. There was no way to chat with my local audience as a whole on Craigslist, and thus my request on that site kept reaching either guys who were clueless as to what pop and soft rock music was despite the fact I would list some consistant artists, those who gave the impression that they just picked up their instrument and who I would have to teach the basics to, or someone who is already committed to playing in other bands, and already has plenty of music buddies to jam with and hang out with.

are you a musician or are you lonely?
I'm confused,
if you're trying to tell me they don't play out in baton rouge
I really find this difficult to believe.
as far as this place is concerned
I don't see anyone here from Louisiana cept you
so i don't really see how social networking helps you.
I mean, spit it out man,
what do you want?

What do you mean you read my posts in "Life in the USA"? What is that exactly? I shouldn't be that huge, because I'm the type of guy who likes to keep a low profile.

And by the way, I would be making friends (both online and in person) if I could just reach the right people on this site, i.e., individuals who like more of the music I enjoy, guys who play music for enjoyment and are not already playing in bands or pursuing a career, and who I can talk with about more suitable websites and local venues to try and then go from there.

What happened to individuals who are open to talking about their experiences good and bad? Learning from other people's experiences and talking to individuals who share similar tastes in music and who have similar goals to mine, is a lot more helpful than connecting with someone who plays heavy metal, or classic rock, and is just playing for money, or to become famous to impress the ladies.

as wonderful as that sounds,
I really don't think this is the place for a gay guy approaching middle age to chat up a like minded lover.
just a thought.

What? I'm not trying to approach anyone as a gay guy looking for a lover.

Yea, I am gay, but I'm not looking for a boyfriend. I am however, through my profile and ad posts on various sites and venues, trying to reach guys around my age who just happen to enjoy playing some of the same music I enjoy and who are just looking for aoms good friends.

And I was trying to use this forum (among others) to gain some specific knowledge about what else is out there (within Baton Rouge and online) where I'd have a better chance at finding these buddies.

"are you a musician or are you lonely?
I'm confused"

I am not a professional musician, but I do play keyboard, and I am looking for other individuals like myself who would simply like to get together to help me polish up some pop and soft rock songs together, and learn some new skills together, as well as play video games, and just hang out.

Ugh! Enough is ENOUGH! I have stated what I'm looking for NUMEROUS times. Why are people able to think only one way? There's the faction of people who only look at the friendship thing, and ignores the music thing, then there's the people who think I'm looking for musicians, but ignore the whole best friends thing.

You will never get it, sad.
Mr whatever posted this,"What happened to individuals who are open to talking about their experiences good and bad? "
O.K. I'm gonna post something to really piss you off. You have a way to go to get here. I said go find a friend. I have enough life experience that I would have to Hire DAWG to help write my songs. LOL.
My wife and I have been best friends longer than you have been alive. Any way, we went out on a small party boat to go FLUKE fishing. Now understand this is part of life that friends do. She out fished me 3 to 1. (she always does). The ride out and the weather was wonderful. We talked, We laughed, We shared all the little secret communications of old fogies like us. We set out to have fun and a wonderful evening, and that is exactly what we got. Great sandwiches, cool breeze , and,,,, fish ON.
Any way this is meant to piss you off , Right. OK. Here's what you are missing.
On the way back in to the dock scattered T storms were predicted. Right on cue there they were. Ok. we are fortunate here because they do not cause any of the destruction that happens in other parts of the country. Anyway we drove home with these storms developing.
Continued on next post.

If that was meant to piss me off, that didn't work.

There is one thing I don't think you understand.

I'm looking for guys, (NOT girls) and I'm trying to find those who are not your outdoorsy types. I like to play video games, and listen to music and read up about science stuff.
