Do what you like stay or go but you can do searches and you can put your E-mail address in your info page and on your forum signature. And if you find someone you really want to contact... cough up the $$

Bandmix advertises this site as "FREE" it's not until you sign up that you're given the full details of using it. Terms of service is where they talk about subscription.

Networking doesn't have to require MONEY. Networking DOES require people to work together, and helps if that person can connect with individuals who have similar goals, and similar music tastes.

Found this site while browsing for nothing in particular; thought it'd be cool to network for some like-minded dudes to play music with, found a friend of mine here I'd like to contact - so I signed up. Went through the steps, set up an account, imported a pic - all good. No, wait, to contact anyone or to have them contact you, you must upgragde and "pay up sucker". Not really the free site you all advertise now is it? See ya!!!

I would be better off on a site LIKE this one, but unlike this one, one that's entirely free and paid for with ads, and where I can connect with people as individuals rather than people as a business. In other words, a place where I can see people's names, post music and video, and a forum with a lot more loving, patient, individuals who like having stimulating conversations, not small-minded professionals who only think one way and who use tough love to try to get their point across.

Actually there aren't a whole lot of good LOCAL music forums where I can connect with other keyboard players and guitar who like more of the music I enjoy.

The first two sites I tried were Baton Rouge Rocks and Craigslist, and both sites were duds. The guys on Baton Rouge Rocks were your stuck up heavy metal, hard rock, and classic rock musicians who are still at the messing around stage who play music to try to impress their girlfriend. There was no way to chat with my local audience as a whole on Craigslist, and thus my request on that site kept reaching either guys who were clueless as to what pop and soft rock music was despite the fact I would list some consistant artists, those who gave the impression that they just picked up their instrument and who I would have to teach the basics to, or someone who is already committed to playing in other bands, and already has plenty of music buddies to jam with and hang out with.
