Mirrors can also deceive the inner eye... and they have a role (I believe) in how we engage the subjunctive in life, and how we fall into the abyss of evil.

1) Greed A dog with a steak in his mouth, approaches the edge of the pond, and sees, in a reflection, another dog with another steak...As most creatures are given over to greedy impulses, the dog attempts to grab the steak from the reflection, and thereby loses possession of the steak he had arrived with.

2) Vanity A woman approaches a mirror , with the expectation of reveling in her own feminine beauty..But she sees the mole on her cheek and the few extra-pounds of curve at her waist. She reaches for a scalpel to remove the mole, and unskillfully destroys the skin around it. She starves her self into malnutrition, causing new moles to appear..She thereby has lost the beauty she possessed when she arrived at the mirror.

3) Pride A man passes by a store window, and notices his own reflection, in conjunction with of the presence of state -of-the-art television set. His tattered clothing speaks to his sense of un unworthiness to possess that television. He then robs and steals from his brothers and sisters to pay for the television...and thereby gains the television, but has lost possession of himself.
LOL . . .

Pride is what drives all our great achievements and Art, as a society we need this, it is healthy. Teaching against pride encourages people to be submissive to religious authorities in order to submit to God, thus enhancing institutional church power.

Aristotle's description of pride makes more sense, respect for oneself, as the greatest of all virtues. Rational pride makes a person harder to rule and dominate.

Making Envy a sin encourages people to be satisfied with what they have rather than object to others' unjust power or seek to gain what others have.

Teaching that Gluttony is a sin encourages those with very little to not want more and to be content with how little they are able to consume, since more would be sinful.

Anger? Come on, this is a no brainer, getting a little pissed off at yourself, something or someone else in order to make a change is sometime needed.

Condemning Greed once again is a device that keeps the poor in their place, and prevents them from wanting to have more.

Sloth is the most misunderstood of the Seven Deadly Sins. Often regarded as laziness, it is more accurately translated as apathy: when a person is apathetic, they no longer care about their duty to God and ignore their spiritual well-being. Condemning sloth is a way to keep people active in the church in case they start to realize how useless religion and theism really are.

Actually, I think maybe Pride is the wrong word for what you describe. The need to feel and have "purpose" better describes the driver. In the right context, pride is our quality control...In the wrong context it's the largest barrier to reaching perfection , ever known to mankind... Our vulnerability in this universe is a conversely proportional to our degree of pride. Consider the trend of diminishing integrity in our lives, as pride increases. Likewise, when we are find ourselves at the bottom of the pit, Pride is shattered and the trend of integrity can only rise.

Aristotle's description of pride makes more sense, respect for oneself, as the greatest of all virtues. Rational pride makes a person harder to rule and dominate.

Aristotle was a left wing democrat ;P Aside from that, can you explain your connotation of "rule and Dominate"?

Making Envy a sin encourages people to be satisfied with what they have rather than object to others' unjust power or seek to gain what others have.

I do not envy wealthy people . In fact I've gotten rather impatient with many of them... I tell them all what I think about their power... You have alluded to Covetousness (The desire to have what the Jone's have... ) I have no desire whatsoever for my neighbor's hot wife...because I know for a fact that my neighbor is doomed and enslaved to a lifetime of parroting "Yes Dear" just for the pride of having a trophy wife.... I dont want anybody's F150 trucks, 5 bedroom houses...I don't even want the horsey -sauce collection from all those Arby's visits when I attended college... :D

Teaching that Gluttony is a sin encourages those with very little to not want more and to be content with how little they are able to consume, since more would be sinful.

Gluttony bears no relevance whatsoever to poverty. Jabba the hut was quite wealthy ..and still wanted more. Oliver twist would have got his pudding if he had just finished his potted meat...(And if Pink Floyd hadnt trapped him in that song forever) I once knew a fat man who keeled over with a 3 valve blowout of his heart while he was 'finishing what he got, cause there were starving people in China'. Gluttony is not a rule to defy people who eat to live...It merely provides guidance for people who live to eat.

Anger? Come on, this is a no brainer, getting a little pissed off at yourself, something or someone else in order to make a change is sometime needed.

I once got angry at myself...then I stepped back and kissed mah sef!... LOL! Anger is a by product of unrequieted expectations... SOmetimes its better to change the expectation... In my case I finally gave up on the notion that I will never have sex in the space shuttle with a hot Russian babe...

Condemning Greed once again is a device that keeps the poor in their place, and prevents them from wanting to have more.

I condemn anyone who bogarts that joint... poor or otherwise...

... The Garret Tightens and the "Great Unwashed" still parties on and discusses the merits of various kinds of feces and which one they prefer. ???

Political filth is Political filth ... they ALL lie and have Hidden Agendas ...they all stink and are bad for one's health. Slacker and PaperDog are correct regarding so much, yet most do not truly hear them. It is little wonder that insults fly ...for they are born of frustration and ignorance and sometimes both.

It is a sick and sordid game in which the "players" are blind and unaware of the "score" and who is truly winning. Most of us are merely livestock and soon the "Great Culling" will begin in earnest. Will you be joking about that and the extinction of your families as well ??? I wonder but sadly I believe that many will up until the last moment.

Tomorrow Mexico has it's "elections". Which scumbag puppet will be elected ? It matters not. Soon all of Mexico will be Vichy-Mexico and the mockery that is the Mexican Constitution will go the way of the American Constitution and disappear after dismemberment.

The American Middle Class that are armed and believe in Freedom along with the Veterans are the last big obstacle for the "One World Government" to overcome . If you can not discern this at this moment in time then you are lost and it is far too late for you, your Family and your collective futures.

Obama Healthcare does not warrant any serious discussion, it is nothing more than another Lie with a hidden agenda. Perhaps it might be more worthwhile to discuss his Mother spreadeagled on the couch of his real Father. ??? Once again wonders what is truth and what is fantasy ???

...Yod, I thank you for your Post and would like to say what you stated about bars in Dallas was correct. I had a building there on Ervay Street just across from Jack Ruby's theatre near "downtown". It was called Axys-1 and we made videos of bands while they played....Texas Twisters...If Then Why...The FunkMonsters etc. It was fun and bands walked away with a video and we sold the tickets ... everyone was happy.

I certainly hope that you are correct and admit that you may well be but I fear there is a great possibility that one of the many "outside" factors may initiate things a bit faster and not quite "according to plan". Fukushima seems to most definately have this potential with it's bulging walls and "elevated" Nimrod Pool of radioactive waste all imaginatively built upon a fault line and now the reactivation of one plant and the "planned" restart of several others despite the huge Demonstration of the Japanese people. It shows that now demonstrations are most definately ineffective and that it is time to do a bit of "beheading".

This can be applied all over the world. The depraved Zionists are busy in the middleEast having a warm up orgy of blood and making plans for the "New Temple". They are also stirring it up with Iran and the area has always been a pressure cooker but now the pressure seems to be building and has the potential to "breach" the containment vessel.

Domestically the common man is waking up despite the slow kill and "the line in the sand" is about to be drawn...all that has to happen is for the NeoTravis to break his sword in anger and initiate "The Rebel Yell". This could occur at almost any moment now that the curtain has been pulled aside and the Veil dropped ... it ain't Kansas...it is much bigger than that.

The Koreas, China and Mother Russia all possess their own potentials as well I believe. This would require a book or small paper to detail but I know you understand this as does PaperDog and many others here. The stage is set and the curtain drawn and the boards are occupied with the actors in place and it is just a question of when the lights go on ...the audience is impatient.

There is a pervading sense of "something" growing all around ... it is not strictly fear or unknowing apprehension. Without sounding too dramatic it is a sense of impending Evil and for those that feel it, it is further heightened by the unknowing and insensible around them.

Regardless I wish you and yours well and perhaps someday we may meet ... this would please me greatly under any circumstance. Ta

What year was that? Can you remember the names of anyone in Texas Twisters?

Of course that is always possible. Greedy people make alliances to gain power...but their worst enemies are the people they make alliances with.

Zionists are not the problem in the middle east. Muslims are. Iran wants a war and they would prefer if America or Israel starts it so they can claim to be the victim and arouse anger from muslims in other nations who wouldn't be their ally. They know there is a billion man army waiting to be harnessed.

Yet with all those factors considered, Obama has the full power of the USA to manipulate in any way he wants, considering he is a dictator who uses the Constitution for toilet paper.

After the election but before the inauguration will be the most political unstable time in America since the Civil War. Should Obama succeed in holding on, the huge tax increases that come will castrate the American economy and the dollar will likely fall then.

...Yod, I thank you for your reply and inquiry. I can not remember the names of anyone in the band but I do have a poster in my "Portfolio Trunk" so I will dig it out and see. The year was when Reagan's Republican Convention was "staged" there in Dallas only a few blocks away. I let the "opposition" use my space and parking lot for a staging area and they organized the dumping of a truckload of cow sh*t at the convention centre to lend the correct ambience. It caused a bit of a ruckus and upset ....well worth it in my opinion. I can not recall the year but I never remember things like that, when I find the poster I will find the year but it was the one with the "Convention" I know that. Ta

...there seems to be a great possibility of another "event" at Fukushima on this Tuesday July 10th. Perhaps the brilliantly designed "elevated pool" will be collapsing since nothing has really been done about it since the "accident" over a year ago. It will not be bye bye Miss American Pie it will be bye Bye civilization in the Northern Hemisphere. Such a good idea for the governmental scum to reactivate the reactors again despite the protests of the people who the scum are supposed to represent and be looking after....kind of reminds one of the political filth and scum that are bumbling about the US lying, stealing, murdering and perpetrating evil with a blank cheque from the livestock/general population. I can just "feel" the excitement of the coming "election" ... which filth are you voting for ??? How about discussing your pathetic inconsequencial view with one another and arguing about who is right. That will be good for a laugh as it always is.

Wake up and realize that you do not matter, what you think does not matter and who you think you are voting for does not matter. Leave the pen, the box, the cell, the pod and be enlightened. You are the enemy of your "Masters" now and they mean to exterminate your ass. Are you going to race one another into the "showers" ???? You stand at this moment upon the knife edge of extinction . Lose the "External Saviour Myth" and take some responsibility for yourself and your family if you still possess the capability ... grow a pair.

I merely attempt to urge those few who are able and although I infuriate those who are lost, I have only sympathy for this multitude of "manufactured" humanity. This is not the moment for petty discord but it is the last moment for grand unification and directly changing the course of self destruction. It is the last moment to collectively recognize, identify and destroy your enemy and their allies ... the enemy of mankind and humanity. humanity. You are what is left of it at this precise moment in time. Contemplate this fully and nothing else will matter. Continue with distraction and experience only total destruction. At any moment you, I and anyone can find themselves a Radiation Refugee. Ta

...Dane, I thank you for your Post. I find you and your thoughts equally entertaining. Like those on Obama Care....what a hoot. Often I am left in a state of wonder ... not knowing if someone is taking the piss or merely just really that stupid, ignorant, uninformed or nonthinking ??? Still What you say about this Forum is true and I am happy we all have it and can express ourselves even in disagreement. PaperDog is correct in that it is hard to stay away and I would rather hear from musos than office geeks. I like coming here and hearing what the others say as it gives me more faith in humanity than I might otherwise have. Ta

vampier, I was honest about it being entertaining, especially this thread, since you are a good writer, this thread is as good as any Stephen King novel in my opinion.. who cares if 1/2 of it might be BS, stirring the pot captivates your audience.. Jim Jones if he was still alive would have nothing on you..anybody with any imagination at all should be lapping up this thread..
