Basically the court ruled that a person's right to free speech is more important than flags, medals and uniforms. While I agree that anyone who would wear a medal that they did not earn is a moron, I support his right to be a moron.

It has been said that the flag represents the history and people
of America. In recent times sadly, it can be argued that the
people dont represent their flag anymore.
War tends to keep you close to your patriotism as demonstrated
immediatley after 9/11. Now we have fallen back into division
and hipocracy.
The so called government of the people has got the citizenry so
busy and preoccupied with survival that greed and control have
run rampant.
The fundamental vote is the tool of dominance that the people
consistantly refuse to recognize and will cleanse the gov.

The moral decline of America is our biggest advisary.[/b]

Sadly this country had to learn a big lesson - we cannot afford to be the world's police. We've spent so much on wars over the last ten years that we will be in debt for the forseeable future. I support the troops and the hard job they have, but I do not support the poiticians who sent them there. The middle east has been in turmoil for thousands of years; let them figure it out on their own. Believe it or not, most of the world does not love the U.S.A. because we have been bullies. It's time to withdraw and take care of our country.

We live in a time when leaving someone alone can result in grave
cosequences. If we left Iran or N. Korea alone that would be the situation.
I believe we have earned the right to be the overwelming authority
on this planet. We just havent learned how to do that correctly yet.
Some we stick our noses in where it doesnt belong and other times
we turn a blind eye.
Someone has to do it. Our technology allows us to do it best.
We just need to learn the other part.
Part of that is electing proper qualified personel to run it.
There you go back to the vote. Until that problem is solved. Nothing
but the same old will continue. Everything is tied together. They keep
you bickering with other politicaly influenced bandmix members
and others accross the nation. Everyone opposes everyone else
and business as usual.

Those that have the real qualifications to do the jobs are far too
smart to get involved with this mess until they see sincerity in
the American public. Then the job will be meaningful. Until then
if ever, decades of strife will shadow this country. Its not about
parties,it's about people.

Perhaps there should be a New World Order, with of course the U.S.A. the one in charge. That's what it sounds like you're advocating. No Klug, we're not number one in much anymore, except in arrogance.

Open your eyes. Global economy is first step toward global
government. Listen to the news. Their money effects our money.
Our money effects theirs. They catch a cold ,we get the flu.
Countries are buying oil with their curency not US dollar values.
I'm not advocating it. I'm recognizing it. Most of what we touch and
buy is imported here. That means others have control. We need it/want it
they have it. All our economies are entwined and stock is ownership.
Look who OWNS large chunks of American business. Many complain
here about corporate control. Its true, corporations are global. They
actualy control and effect people globally.

Look up Johnson&Johnson recalls for the past 3 years. They have
EFFECTED thousands and thousands of people with their products.
All in the name of profit. Look at the Depuy metal on metal hip
implant debacle thats happening right now in the world. J&J is the
parent company. They are just an example of what can happen
when corporate goes wild.

A global control must happen. Who knows how that will turn out. :? [/b]

Among other things, our American soldier heroes fought for American freedom of speech and freedom of expresion, regardless of how stupid and disrespectful that speech or expression might be. There is no questioning my loyalty to this country. You can question my preference for common sense in legislative activities which unfortunately at this time bear little resemblance to common sense.

If we are going to have a consitition we must respect it. You want to change it there is a process.

(I realilze the govt pigs have overthrown it but we are not them)

Less laws are better.

My roomate in the barracks in a far away place told me he had been a boy soldier in the British SAS. Right....

The Navy Seals apparently consists of tens of thousands of men based upon the many I've met personally. 8)

Yeah, that stuff makes me sick. But the most dangerous word in the world to those who love freedom is, "there ought to be a law."

Beat up the posers if you want. But keep the sword of the state out of it. You are letting the camels nose under the tent of freedom.

Once again the legality of America triumphs over the morality. Really? We needed a law to tell us that wearing awards not earned is wrong? Worse yet, now we need an exemption because it is feasible enough morons still may not be able to figure that all out.

It’s not just the irrelevance that we now bestow above and beyond with, but the irony that those pretending to be the most sacrificing of our society could be in fact the most selfish. Think about how much regulation was spent on protecting what should not happen in the first place? I would lose no sleep whatsoever if a Medal of Honor poser was shot in the ass with rock salt, just as a warning. With a second offence of thirty lashes getting more severe from there.

Wow it’s a huge danger to simply dismiss the extraordinary acts that some medals convey. Like for instance someone who dives on a grenade to save their comrades. Absolutely such an act is noteworthy and not just for the moment either. Those sort of feats deserve to be held with at least a small amount of distinction and reverence. Certainly if we are to hope they are ever to be repeated.

We do not have to worship our heroes, but is it too much to ask that they at the very least be recognized as unique? Assumption of that level of sacrifice is a potent charade. It is nothing short of a fraud and yes I think fraud should be illegal. Only Audie Murphy has the right to assume recognition for feats executed by Audie Murphy. :)

Unbelievable there is contention in that, that there needs to be a discussion. What planet are some of you folks from? What is the social value of protecting slime who pretend to have made honorable, even mortal sacrifices? Those sort are the very cause of the moral erosion everyone clamors about and yet here we debate their privileges in personal liberty.

Some things are sacred, just as they need to be. Once you remove all of that, we are perpetrating a fraud. Not much worth saving in a society where even extraordinary feats of heroism can be dismissed in the attempt to promote complacency. There is no losers we are all winners and that is a big lie, liberal genius and I mean that sincerely the angle is awesome. It works great here, for something if said twenty years ago, you would simply be shot for saying.

Let's say for the sake of argument that a law IS passed that makes it illegal for somebody to wear military medals that they did not earn.. How are we going to enforce it? What are going to be the penalties? Fines? Imprisonment? Put the offender in a military stockade? Make the offender go through military basic training? We have a military surplus store in Kansas City that sells all kinds of military style pendants that people can buy and wear. Should THAT be illegal? This whole argument to me is really silly. If somebody disrespects America and its military I feel sorry for them. They should go live in Cuba for a year. To impose any kind of legal penalties on a moral outrage is akin to the Spanish Inquisition.

I just want to say this.

If you feel you must burn the flag, use lots of gas and make sure you are standing on top the of flag when you light it and don't move till its burned out.

If you feel you must wear a medal that you did not earn, then visit your local VFW and American Legion and let everyone inside know and show them how good it looks on you.

I think anyone who wares a REAL military medal and has not earned it
should be placed in a room, tied to a chair and made to watch
"Saving Private Ryan" 100 times without stop.

You know even our discourse here on bandmix is evidence of the great
moral decline in America. Just a few decades ago nobody would talk to
an acquaintance the way we talk to each other right here.

Behavior has changed in this world we live in, and what is acceptable.
As I have said many times before here. Bad parenting is the start.
Before the little brain becomes hard wired in our youth as a child. All
they have is example and learned behavior. Test after test after test.
At a point they become who they are, from all that learned behavior.
Parenting is the single most important task in our lives. It is because
you actually hands on create the foundation of another humans personality
that they carry on for the rest of their life. That foundation that you
influenced will touch many thousands of others in life and so on.

That is how it happened.
That is why we need to care about stuff and go out of our way to do
the right thing in life. Be humble, be charitable, be kind and respectful.
Have you ever heard of the phrase "Pass It On".
Do something nice for someone you don't even know today and after they
give you that surprised look, look back at them and tell them to
"Pass It On".

Some may think that people that act like that just get run over in life
because there's always an ashhole who will beat you down.
Its all about numbers and strength in character. The more that
adapt to this way of thinking, the smaller the number of ashholes. That's the way it happened the other way.

Anyway, just venting.
