From a business standpoint paying $969 per person penalty uninsured is way less in my case than providing health care. We have been insuring our employees since the late 80s thou, so I really need to see how its gonna work, might be easier and cheaper to just drop the health care and let the government pick up the tab, dont know yet.

I have NEVER in my life seen a president make such a Mochery out of the Constitution, presidency, nation, laws of this nation. Folks we ARE in socialism its here Bro.
1) Elana Kagen should have recused herself from voting. FOR CHRIST SAKE SHE HELPED WRITE THE BILL! Talk about a conflict of interest.
2) John Roberts turned on his own party!

Folks this is a TAX that is going to be paid by YOU AND ME working folks! When Have you heard the Government doing away with a tax. My point is once the gubment starts a tax program it damn near takes an act of GOD to stop it. Thats one new tax. Now he is going to do away with the Busch tax cuts. That are not REALLY A TAX CUT, they are the lack of a tax increase. Guess what thats another Tax. I don't Know about your state but there is another headline in real fine print here in Texas. It reads that the state just approved a 50% wholesale increase in the cost of Electricty. Now from my experience that increase is going to be passed on to you guessed it ME the consumer. In one day my cost of living just skyrocketed! I hope to get a pay increase this year  it won't even keep up with the cost of inflation. Conservatives and anyone else that gives a SH!T about this country and the future of their children and grandchildren BETTER educate yourself in whats really going on and get off the Mesiah who HATES this country bandwagon. VOTE THIS CRIMINAL out of office in November!

I'm not that concerned about this,,, YET.
We have major elections coming up.
Our government wants to create a new tax, the economy is in the doldrums.
Our national debt is beyond our gross domestic product.
When we get to the point were there is no way to pay for any of this, our country will collapse in a way that some really smart people were talking about two years ago. TOP down BOTTOM up.
It doesn't matter, 50 years ago you worked hard and you could afford to raise a decent family. Freedom was a cherished American value.

Very sad, because your Freedoms are being stripped one piece of flesh at a time.

Chief Justice Roberts Is A Genius
Posted on June 28, 2012 by I.M. Citizen

Before you look to do harm to Chief Justice Roberts or his family, it’s important that you think carefully about the meaning – the true nature — of his ruling on Obama-care. The Left will shout that they won, that Obama-care was upheld and all the rest. Let them. It will be a short-lived celebration.

Here’s what really occurred — payback. Yes, payback for Obama’s numerous, ill-advised and childish insults directed toward SCOTUS. Chief Justice Roberts actually ruled the mandate, relative to the commerce clause, was unconstitutional. That’s how the Democrats got Obama-care going in the first place. This is critical. His ruling means Congress can’t compel American citizens to purchase anything. Ever. The notion is now officially and forever, unconstitutional. As it should be.

Next, he stated that, because Congress doesn’t have the ability to mandate, it must, to fund Obama-care, rely on its power to tax. Therefore, the mechanism that funds Obama-care is a tax. This is also critical. Recall back during the initial Obama-care battles, the Democrats called it a penalty, Republicans called it a tax. Democrats consistently soft sold it as a penalty. It went to vote as a penalty. Obama declared endlessly, that it was not a tax, it was a penalty. But when the Democrats argued in front of the Supreme Court, they said ‘hey, a penalty or a tax, either way’. So, Roberts gave them a tax. It is now the official law of the land — beyond word-play and silly shenanigans. Obama-care is funded by tax dollars. Democrats now must defend a tax increase to justify the Obama-care law.

Finally, he struck down as unconstitutional, the Obama-care idea that the federal government can bully states into complying by yanking their existing medicaid funding. Liberals, through Obama-care, basically said to the states — ‘comply with Obama-care or we will stop existing funding.’ Roberts ruled that is a no-no. If a state takes the money, fine, the Feds can tell the state how to run a program, but if the state refuses money, the federal government can’t penalize the state by yanking other funding. Therefore, a state can decline to participate in Obama-care without penalty. This is obviously a serious problem. Are we going to have 10, 12, 25 states not participating in “national” health-care? Suddenly, it’s not national, is it?
Ultimately, Roberts supported states rights by limiting the federal government’s coercive abilities. He ruled that the government can not force the people to purchase products or services under the commerce clause and he forced liberals to have to come clean and admit that Obama-care is funded by tax increases.

Although he didn’t guarantee Romney a win, he certainly did more than his part and should be applauded.
And he did this without creating a civil war or having bricks thrown through his windshield. Oh, and he’ll be home in time for dinner.
Brilliant.

Dog, You are one Genius for picking up on that.
I saw that too and was thinking the same thing.

This is just screwed up.

Like I said, I'm not too concerned. ( I know that should be "as I said".

Thanks Grant!

The Greatness of America has always been based on the Greatness of the individual.

In the last 50 years we have become a Communist nation under a different name.

You don't count any more.

Congrats to our President for sticking by his convictions even when some in his party were against it. All Americans deserve health care, and today's ruling is huge. Romney claims he will repeal it but there's nothing he can do, don't fall for his lies. He was the one who drafted the first version of this law in 2006! Obama 2012!!!

MikeG9699 wrote:The problem is that this all started in politicians trying to find a way to provide more affordable healthcare to all Americans and warped into nothing more than a socialist program to provide free health care only to some Americans. Business will stop providing healthcare as it will be much cheaper to just pay the penalty and individuals will end up doing the same. In the end more people in this country will be without healthcare than ever before. Insurance rates will either skyrocket or if capped will put most of the insurance companies out of business giving less or no choice in getting insurance. It just doesn't make since.

What a trusting soul are you! Good for you.

However I believe that there is more than ample proof that once in power most politicians promises fade into oblivion. For the most part as evidenced in their behavior, politicians have seldom cared about their constituents.
The people are simply the path to Power. This law is all about power, not health, and now they can have control over every aspect of our lives, just as they intended. It was the only way to tyranny without massive bloodshed. The bloodshed will come later.
If it were not so, this power grabbing legislation would never have seen the daylight. Most Americans have been against it from the beginning. Of those that have needed healthcare, whether citizens or illegal aliens, few if any have been denied. That should be evident to everyone by the number of hospitals that have gone broke treating illegals and free loaders.

I think with a larger pool of people signed up for med. insurance that the poor uninsured using the emergency room and thus driving up the costs to the policyholders will become a thing of the past..just study your lesson on Romney and Massachusetts, they started this must have med. insurance and the experts say it's turning things around for the good..
