What next? Precedent has been set that dictates the government can tax you for anything and everything without any input from congress whatsoever. Now the government can impose dieting and fitness programs upon you through information provided by your doctor, and they can monitor your compliance. The government can tell you what and what you can not eat and how much under health care. Not to say anything what can come out of this Pandora's box, now that it has been opened. That is what is next. No? Wait and see.

Slacker, you are absolutely correct.. I think this opens the door to 'real', bonafide socialism. America just took on another dildo in the ass from the Acme Rubber dog-shit company...

Now, Doctors, who deserve their wealth, have no incentive to practice any more...and the doctors who don't deserve it, will be working 16 hour days...to land a modest income. Never mind the patients...They aren't that much different than casino chips, getting passed around on the floor all day...

Yep America is upi the creak with a jar of vaseline...

What do we do next? That's easy, vote Obama the liar out. He swore repeatably to the American people that the individual mandate was not a tax in order to get it passed. He new that if they called it a tax even the Democrats would not have passed it but the White House argued in court that it was indeed a tax. Now Obama and the Democrats are going to have to explain why they lied in passing one of the biggest tax hikes in history. This is not a victory for Obama. It's just one more lie that will catch up to him in November.

yes, it is the right thing for this country, to have affordable healthcare available for all, but I did not say the ways and means this administration took was the correct way to do it.. so before you call me a commie or worse think about it,

Dane Ellis Allen wrote:perhaps everybody will be forced to purchase a fishing and hunting license?
That reminds me. A few years ago i was fishing Hillsdale Reservoir in NE Kansas catching and releasing some small Crappie. In that body of water they have to be at least 10 inches to legally keep them and then there's a creel limit (20) per person. There was a bunch of illegal immigrants fishing who weren't catching anything. One of them came up to me and said "Me fish!" I didn't understand him and he said "Me fish!" Then I caught another one too small and threw it back. He went and got his fish basket and said "No, me fish!" I figured out that he meant for me to give him the fish. I said "No, too small, illegal, no good." He said "Its good for me!"
So I wholeheartedly agree with Dane that everybody should be forced to purchase a fishing and hunting license, although that pretty much is the case already. It's not enforced however as well as it could be.
Now that Obamacare has been ruled Constitutional everybody can say to doctors "Its good for me!"

I think we're making more out of this ruling. Obamacare is many bills rolled into one. Over time I believe parts of this bill will be repealed, parts changed, parts improved. I don't like the "let's repeal the entire thing" position. I say keep the good parts and get rid of the bad. Those that are saying "repeal" have offered no alternatives. We can't go back to healthcare pre-Obamacare, that is a given. SOMETHING needs to be done. Obamacare may not be the solution, but let's all agree to work with it now that it has been ruled Constitutional. Some aspects of the bill I very much agree with, like students being able to stay on their parents' plan until age 26 and after 2014 insurance can't turn you down for prior health conditions. There's good and bad, let's work with it in a sensible way.

Bob, I need to get a handle on what it means to my pocket book, and so do you. I dont understand the ins and outs of it.

I was in one of my bank board meetings earlier when we heard about it, and there was a heavy discusion on how much impact this would have on doctors incomes and thier ability to pay thier personal debt, but it will flesh out one way or the other. Plus what would it take out of everyones pay checks every week, Im sure it wont be pretty.

What ever your business is..If you have employees, You'l probably force them to contribute higher dollars, or you'll pick a cheap package that will prove to be worthless when it matters... Either way, your business will be sporting a Socialist boot stamp, impressed firmly in the ass... It sucks but I don't see any way to avoid it..

The problem is that this all started in politicians trying to find a way to provide more affordable healthcare to all Americans and warped into nothing more than a socialist program to provide free health care only to some Americans. Business will stop providing healthcare as it will be much cheaper to just pay the penalty and individuals will end up doing the same. In the end more people in this country will be without healthcare than ever before. Insurance rates will either skyrocket or if capped will put most of the insurance companies out of business giving less or no choice in getting insurance. It just doesn't make since.
