I guess that is specifically directed at me John. But you are wrong. We have had many musicians pass through and I think I have said more than a few nice things. When some one has no music posted or they just want to get nasty right away,,, You don't know me, I'm not going to take crap from any one. ESPECIALLY JIMMY DICKHEAD.

Now I'm going to cut you some slack on that last line because of the fine musician you are BUT,,,

That was a real chickenshit way of saying in different words....
Not that it is any of my concern and I really don't mean anything by it,,,,
let me impose my personal form of censorship.
Thanks for the wisdom son,,,, Next time I'll come running for the information.

You have a nice day.

To the original poster, move to a big city ASAP. You can't throw a stone in Detroit without hitting a musician, and there's a lot of folks into death/metal/industrial/goth/punk around here.

Imagine, A grown man, afraid to see what someone might write back.

No wonder why this country is going to hell. We have a bunch of cowards running around with voting rights.

Jw I can think of 50 different ways to cut up the newbies...(and the old ones) Those ways include patent out right vitriolic language, which I tend to be guilty of. And another way is through passive aggressive sarcasm (and getting ones digs in from the wings) which apparently might your method, here. (Also Jimmy;s)

And if none of this matters to you, it makes no sense that you would respond at all to it...Comn JW I respect the hell out of you... but are you blowing smoke up anybody's ass today? ...  8)

I hate to admit it, but Jimmy is right about the younguns... To that end, If I see a youngun Phuckin up,, Its my duty to stomp on his ass to set him right...

I think its safe to say were all guilty of this one way or another... But like I keep reminding folks...Nobody goes home bleeding for any of it..

It reminds me of the gunslinger days... There's always that kid who wants to prove himself..so he walks into a saloon where old folggies are and he yells out: "I can take all ya bitches on ...wit my eyes behind my back"! Next scene you see the youngun getting wheeled out of the general store with a sasparella drip.

If you look closely, it seems you were the one that started slinging this sort of stuff. I just said your music wasn't quite up to your expectations.
I'm done here cause I don't want to hurt your feelings any more than I obviously have. Now Be Careful! You are dealing with a bunch of GREAT MUSICIANS. They will help you if you are kind and ask,,, OR,,,,,

THEY WILL SHRED YOU TO BITS!

I'm done with this thread.

JimmyD is right on - get yourself to a big city. In addition to more contacts there is an energy vibe you'll pick up on at once. It is good for your morale to be around people who believe.

Practice ALL the time. You probably have no idea how good the top end people have to be. But even if you are shitty, you can still compete if you have balls and a stage act.

The people who pull it off are usually performers first. Charisma and prescence help a lot. If you haven't got much of that you can always work wtih some singer who can handle that end while you show off on guitar.

While you're planning that move to the city (don't take too long) hook up with some guys. If you have to, grow your own. You can teach a monkey to play bass. (I speak as a bass player 8) ) and he'll get good or fall by the wayside. Beat them until they practice all the time, make them believe!

Grab guys that are crazy enough to move to LA or NY or Detroit with you. That's the kind of guys that can put it together. Jethro Tull got their name because they were changing the name every week. They sucked so bad (initially) that they could never play the same venue twice!

But they sorted it out.

You have a nice day.

Glenny Im gonna have a nice day today, tomorrow and the next day, you do the same.

By the way I dont need any slack from you or anyone on here or anywhere, it just hit me funny that I got on here yesterday and almost every thread I read you are slamming Jimmy, I dont know what the deal is between the two of you, but if all you want to do is slam Jimmy, then start a thread and have at it, instead of inserting it in everyone elses thread, does that make sense?

This can be a great place to support people, new and old and also give and take ideas that might help someone else, but lately you have taken your personal stuff to a new level, I know its an open forum and people can say whatever they want to, but in my opinion, which doesnt mean much you have gotten to the point to where you are doing more harm than good, to me that just strikes at your credibility level. Heck maybe your live is so bad that you have to slam whoever to get your yah yahs out, but it does get old after a while or at least it does to me, and Im sure there are many others here that feel the same.

But hey if its working for you and makes you feel better, have at it.

It's just words, people.

If you can't take it, you better learn.

If you are pu**y, buy a tampon.
If you don't want to be criticized, try not hanging your dick in the wind like you have half a brain.

I don't know who tucks you in at night with warm milk but the rest of us live in the cold, hard, cruel world. DEAL WITH IT !!!

Toughen up or the world will chew on you.

If you try to chew on me, I may hand you your teeth either literally or figuratively. (or both)

"Don't write checks with your mouth that your ass can't cash".
It's cold and hard, I am well aware of but absolutely 199% true.

You don't like what's being said, it's your right to talk about it.
Talk the talk/walk the walk.

I told off an asshole earlier after I got a minor slap that included no discernible constructive criticism. Then I had a minor uprising.

SO F**KING WHAT !!!! Should I go cry myself to sleep now?

LOL Take a Midol and get back to work or we'll whip you with the whip with the nail in the end.

After you make your first million, then you have time to cry.
Until then stfu and do what you do unless you are content to be a nobody.

"The best revenge is to live well", that includes writing and performing.

Talk is cheap. Do what you do, but do it well.

"Playing a little music on the outside"...

Too much "love" on this site.

Truth is going out the window and you know that never sits well with me.

I am a realist and to sit around is pointless.
I promote myself better while I play, even if I have to be a soloist.
It's doesn't phase me at all.
I haven't even had time to update my info. Then again, why bother?
This site is primarily for talk at this point, not walk.

When I have time to blather, then I stop here.

work on other areas of your music.
Tennessee is a huge country scene, country is derived from the blues. And if you slow down Metal...guess what...Blues!
Practice runs and scales in the down time. It will pay off when you find a band.
Peace
