I am going to pretend that I do not understand or know any of the swears I have NOT SEEN on this thread and address your original question and hope that you will be strong enough to accept what I say as my opinion and withold any swears that may leap into your brain..keep 'em up there and don't let them leak out of your fingers...there are some lurking here that are waiting for an opportunity to pounce........

I listened to your sample, why did you only post a sample, is this song not finished?

From the beginning to .18 has served as an intro and it seemed a bit too long, not anything that pulls the listener into the song (this intro without vocal lasts the total to .58 I believe) too long to get to the beginning.

At .18 to .34, you should be careful, there are some out there that may accuse you of trying to rip off some Rush "Tom Sawyer"...yes, it isn't all there and as good as that, but when folks hear another song...that is a tricky territory.

At .34 to .58, I may be out of line because of the genre, but to my ears, those drums are hard to listen to, they are too loud and off beat. That may have been your intention and I'm sorry, it is not a genre I listen to often, but it makes it very hard to make it to .58.

At .58 you finally get to the vocal and it is buried and weak in the mix so it is hard to hear and the lyric is lost. I do understand about the punk/grunge world and things aren't always so clear, but you lose a listener when you make them wait and then don't deliver a good vocal.

I think it would be best to re-think this so that it has more appeal. Again, this is just my opinion, but as others have so kindly pointed out, there is some great talent on this forum and if you can get past their comments, and take a listen, there is a lot you can learn.

I caution you not to think this forum is so tough, I come from a songwriter forum that would have handed this back to you on the very same platter that was served to you here....just with no swear words and plitical jargon, but you do need to learn to filter comments better, it will do you a world of good if you wish to improve and grow.
