LOL... if the next stage is like sleep in the non-dream state I could live with that to, I just don't want to have to face the problems like disease, old age, and the general suffering man and the animal kingdom face eventually.. life can be great at this moment and tomorrow catastrophe strikes, what fun is that? George Harrison even wanted to be FREE FROM BIRTH!.. and Sting hits home with beached whales at a srpring time ebb and butterflies caught in spider's webs? ..while IS That My Soul up There?

either there is "pie in the sky when you die"
or there is not.
what you personally believe is really quite irrelevant.

Not true, if there truly is a correct belief system (they all can't be correct), then wouldn't you want to know if you are wasting your time following a false belief system?

How do you go about aligning yourself with things that make your immortality stronger?

Also, to what end would this be towards?

I Knewwww Ya'd ask ;)

Lets go back to the insurance policy... Which one shall we pick? No escaping that we are in the throws of a gamble...What indeed shall we choose, then...? There are elements to help us and there are element to avoid...

Take a look at Dane's suggestion of energy ... It motivates and it overwhelms. If it motivates, we adapt ourselves to follow the cue.. (an act, which itself is a motivator of energy...)
How does your essence (Or as some call it...soul) fare, if you find yourself in the company of murders and thieves...? How does it fare if you are in the arms of your soul-mate partner?
The energy is everywhere..but its the conduits and channelers of that energy, which either enhance or degrade our immortality.

To answer your question, If I were to align myself... It would be along side the dogma, agent , plan , imperative that best suits my pursuit of life (immortality).

Religion: Which of them prescribes love; the most positive markers of energy... (as opposed to hate or indifference)

Resources: WHich artifacts will best support my cause, lending toward prescribed love.

Logic of Faith: A gambler's dilimma...Is it better to disbelieve in something, then die and find out you were wrong? Or is it better to believe in something, and then die and find out you were wrong?

Finally what insurance policy offers these attributes?

Life is pointless...that's the beauty... Life is pointless ...and yet, here we are... You cant beat a better deck of cards. We make it something more than pointless. We are free to do so... and nobody is wrong for that...Therein lies our immortality.
It just starts to suck when some jack-ass infringes on our right to be alive...
