Scott I always thought they were for situations where you couldnt get your amp volume to the point of getting good harmonics, but then again I remember some guitars that had them installed.
I would try one, but lord I have way too many toys anyway and dont know how to use half of them.

To all of you...
You don't have to use it, but by all means if you get the chance to try it, do so.
JW I think you would dig it..you get legato and sustain that lasts all day long.
The reality of it is that it can make a person sound better than they are, sad but true. It all depends on your style of play.

Capt Im sure I would find a use for one for sure, I had an E-Bow way back there so it would be similiar to that.
Although I have quite a few effects on my board, I just use them at times to color my sound, to give peoples ears something different to hear, but honestly I pretty much bi pass my effects 80% of the time and just go for a straight amp sound, and most rooms Im playing these days I can just get the amp cranked with the right amount of feedback and play legato as long as I want too.

"A winks as good as nod to a blind man"
You 'd be surprised at how many people I talk to tell me they just go straight from their Les Paul directly to their amp(s).
(The say they just don't need anything else)
And wtf is an "e-bow". I have no idea what that is.
