I am TRULY sorry for ANY missunderstandings. I don't really understand why I got so many negative responses and attacks, and foolish assumptions, but I am truly sorry if did anything that offended anybody or upset someone.

Clifford - when are you going to open your eyes/mind and LISTEN? There's no on here on THESE FORUMS from Baton Rouge. We can't tell you where the clubs are there that play the music you like - take some initiative and go find them. We can't tell you where there to find your best buddy/musical playmate - take the initiative and start looking, and keep looking. You won't find these things here while you are constantly stating we 'don't understand what you are asking'.

Thanks Mike.

I found players on Bandmix. But it was only a fraction of the energy I expended.
Entertainment ( and I think music especially ) is a contact sport.
Not only is there competition ... but the whole point is face to face interaction. The modern miracles of amplification / recording / radio / video ... does not change that fact.

Listen to me, Mike! Bars and clubs are NOT the best places for me to start looking for musicians. I wanted to save those places for after I find the desired music buddies as performances places. I need to go to places that are open during the daytime with a much more relaxed atmosphere where I can simply audition some individuals. Bars and clubs in Baton Rouge are quite dangerous and most of the musicians that play there are going to be into hard rock, heavy metal, and weird indie stuff, and there are not going to be a whole lot of keyboard players.

You guys are doing the exact same thing that the people on Baton Rouge Rocks did. The only exception is that they actually did give out some specific places in Baton Rouge. What I need is to talk with other individuals on these forusm. I can't message anyone on this site, because I only have a free account and I don't want to pay for a service just so I can message someone in my area. Heck, I'm doing that on Craigslist and it's getting me nowhere.

And again, the artists I enjoy (which also for some reason seems to be hated here as well) is NOT liked by a lot of guys in my area.

I'm not looking for guys who are already out there performing at clubs or bars, or open mics. I'm looking for guys who may not have a lot of music budddies, and who like me don't go to bars and clubs and just play music as a hobby but who are still serious about it. I'm trying to reach guys who like me still need to work on some skills before they get out and perform.

And by the way, this is the ONLY place I have left to at least see if I can reach some guys in their 20s in Baton Rouge, Louisiana who play pop and soft rock music so I can learn about the specific places by name that you guys have only been telling me about from a general standpoint, which I already knew I should try.

By the way, I am listening to what most everybody has to say. But at the same time, I can't follow through on it because I need to talk with some guys closer to my age who like and play more of the music I enjoy and who live right here in Baton Rouge.

Why am I still reaching angry guys much older than me who are ACTIVE musicians in their area and who also seem to not like the pop and soft rock music style? Not just here, but wherever I post online. I always seem to reach musicians like that, even when I was on Baton Rouge Rocks.

How do I get more responses from musicians who like more of the music I enjoy and those who are NOT currently playing out and about?

goto any open mic, anywhere.

1) Play with anyone..

2) Play what's going around.

3) Watch and wait, your time will come.

4) shut up. No one wants to hear you whine about what you aren't getting.

Put up or shut up, the world doesn't care what you want.
You just better hope you can find a slot to fit into..

Again your stuck in your suppositions.
Every-time you say / assume about "where" to do this or "where" to do that, is dead wrong. Nothing but your own prejudice.

Phuckit ... I give up.

You guys are the ones who are prejudice. Listen to me. The music I enjoy is NOT popular amongst ACTIVE musicians in my area and I need to speak to less active musicians in the Baton Rouge area who like more of the music I enjoy.

And also I'm not trying to fit into anything, and I don't care about what the WORLD has to say either. I'm trying to reach individuals who do care and like me.

If you are a guy who is already in an active band and has tons of experience playing out at Open Mics and bars, and clbus, I don't want to hear from you.

If you are a guy who still needs to improve on his skills and is NOT the type of guy who goes and meets musicians at Open Mics, bars, and clubs, then you are the type of person I would like to recieve help from.

And I am NOT making assumptions about anything. The stuff I'm sharing with you guys happens to come from experience. And you guys aren NOT being very sensitive to the places I wouldn't feel comfortable going to. Open Mics, bars, clubs and resturaunts are the worst places to start in my search, because most of those places in Baton Rouge are going to attract those who play hard rock, classic rock, heavy metal and weird indie rock, not mainstream pop and soft rock from my favorite American Idols and favorite divas.

And for once STOP acusing me of whining. Look at it more as me telling you about my experiences and be a little bit more sensitive to where I need to start.

I am NOT attneidng ANY Open Mics. Those places would be play and run sort of places. And there aren't any I can attend during the afternoon on a Saturday.

I am NOT looking to play with just anyone. I would however like to play to a more private musician audience like as part of a soft rock and pop music club.

I am NOT selling out by playing what everybody else in my area is playing.

And even if I did find soemone, there's still the matter of making sure he's a guy with a likeable personality, and someone who doesn't live too far away from where I live so that he doesn't have to travel an hour or more just to come pick me up. And he needs to be someone who has a decent music room.

There is no one here on these forums to meet your stringent requirements.

STOP being rude. Realize that I don't know where to go from here. I wouldv'e left here if I knew where else to go, but I am truly lost. There are no other local Baton Rouge music message boards besides Batonrougerocks.com and that board is mostly for musicians who play heavy metal, hard rock, and classic rock and who are active musicians who are already committed to playing in bands.

And stop viewing my preferences as stringent. Try to understand the why behind those preferences instead of getting all hot under the collar and saying things you don't even mean.

Also how hard would it have been for you guys to have just stepped back and gave the audience I was trying to reach a chance to respond? Why did you guys get so hot under the collar when I simply told you that I couldn't follow through on the suggestions because I needed experiential knowledge about specific and appropriate places by name to try and not just general advice on what to try?

I did not say anything to hurt anybody, and I didn't mean to start any arguments. Forgive me if I came off a little firm in my delivery.

lol We aren't scaring off people that would help you.

We're the only ones who give you even 30 seconds to consider what you are saying.

It doesn't matter what you want to play, oh weird lil jr.
You need to get with some people that want to play a little bit, period.

This sh*t about a jamroom? lol

Are you on meds or something? No one gives a flatulent f**k what you want. You're best bet is to try to find someone that would deal with you on ANY level.

(And keep your adam lambert kissing stuff to yourself, no one wants to hear that crap except Adam Lambert) tee-hee-hee

I'd kick you in the ass for whining and send you down the road, let alone that kissing a guy crap. You need therapy !!!

And lemme guess the best is you have NO MUSIC POSTED>?

You have very little chance of doing anything but getting beat up on a sat. night and filing a police report. LMAO

You've exhausted your options here. I know if I were you, it'd be OPEN MIC time but you don't want to do that so you will sit in your adult diaper and rot until you decide you are bored and upset enough to try at this instead of waiting for "Brokeback Mountain" to come out on DVD.

If you don't get it by now, no one can help you at all.
Vaya Con Dios !!!

That response was completely uncalled for! Look at all of that stuff you posted about Adam Lambert, and that whole spiel about the poice coming after me and beating me up. Talk about a very punkish attitude.

Get it through your head that I don't want to play with just anyone. I need to recieve help from someone who will actually talk with me and have a calm, and decent conversation with me, not soemone who gets angry easily and makes horrible assumptions about a given person. You are being EXACTLY like the people I had to deal with on Baton Rouge Rocks who were trying to convince me to do the exact same thing you want me to do.

Early on in my search, I did get with a few people who wanted to play, but I had to turn them down because of their lack of passion for the artists I'm into or because of their lack of skill, or because they were TOO experienced and most were ONLY interested in playing music with me.
