But it should NOT be legal. It is murder. It was illegal for several millenia because it obvious that is was a wicked practice.

We used to know that.

It is rightly a states issue in our country. It was in fact, before the corrupt whores on the Court identified a non-existant 'penumbra' and over rode the law in all fifty states!

That's right. It was illegal in all fifty states but seven reprobate, destable scum over rode the law. Since then we have been ruled by usurpers.

If I read my scripture right there is a thing called collective judgement.
50 million dead babies later I'm not surprised at the state of this country.

Mike you are correct...The practices were always an exception and not the norm. Today its almost completely reversed. For all the collective judgement, I believe we still answer for our individual deeds.. In any case, I am of clear conscience in my own back yard. As for the rest of the world...f**k em... They don't dictate my destiny... If my neighbors want abortion, they are gonna have abortion... Frankly, I believe its what goes down in the heart about these acts, that matters the most. I know of a woman who was coerced into having once... It killed her on the inside in so many ways... She needed compassion, kindness and understanding to help her get through her own turbulence over it. Then, there are other women who are indifferent, and its an act of 'convenience.''' We dont have to believ in a God to see where the karma will fall on these individuals... (The collective judgement)

After all is said and done... You simply can't legislate morality. What a Christian must keep in mind is this. All Authority is appointed by God for His purpose.

"... You simply can't legislate morality"

Sorry, I call bullshit on that. All laws are about legislating morality. Is murder not illegal? Is weed not illegal (stupid, true) and you have to pay your taxes and not steal etc.

you are absolutely right,
when you come right down to it, morality is the only thing that is legislated.
if it is law, it is a moral address.

Mike, laws are actually based on the legislation of behaviours... To ensure that law benefits society, it examines and tests legislation for ethics; (Ethical imperatives as described by Kant) it often weighs the impacts of morals... But at the end of the day,. law is strictly about governing behavior.

A good example of this is the "Good Samaritan " law...and other forms of civic "duty" by citizens. It was not illegal to "refuse to render aid under certain circumstances (i.e fear of law suits) " . However, Morally it was wrong to not render aid. . When Samaritan was enacted, it weighed the balance of repercussion against the benefit to society. In the case, the law enabled society to practice positive moral decisions, without suffering negative recourse.

I guess we could say that we cant legislate morality, but in the right hands, the law can facilitate, and even protect it.

If you were right, there would be no murder... simply because legislation demanded or stated that you can not murder. Um, how many murders do we have per day around the world? Neither would anyone do drugs, becauseof legislation against .... no one would steal... or cheat on their taxes... simply because it was legislated.

So in response to your response.... I'll respond with your response... bullshit.

Morality (from the Latin moralitas "manner, character, proper behavior")

The definition of morality above lists all personal choices of behavior that come from within a person. Passing a law doesn't make one moral nor does it give someone morality. Passing legislation can only punish those who do not have the morality to observe the legislation.

Even though God has authored moral legislation, yet it is not observed, rather it is written that no one can satisfy the law or the commandments.
