Let's keep the responses coming, but let's try to avoid posting random junk like what Paperdog just posted.
Try this one my friend.
People are people. Your killing yourself and your chances with assumptions.
Like
can't find people I need in a church ... sure you could.
OR
Baton Rouge is somehow different than Anycity USA ... it's not
OR
There is some magic technique to find you for whom you seek ... there is not.
This forum is full of threads and ideas of how where and when to look for musically compatible people. IE high school or college level musical department heads ETC
The simple truth is you will have to use your computer some and get off your computer a lot and actively seek where the musicians are.
Like the princess in the fairytale your going to have to kiss a sh*t load of toads before you find your prince.

Man, STOP being a jerk about this whole thing. Realize that churches are NOT appropriate for the artists I'm into, and STOP saying that I'm looking for something "magical". I got enough of that from people on Baton Rouge Rocks. I'm into styles of music that isn't very popular amongst most musicians in Baton Rouge.
Cladam Blakebert wrote:I really need some help trying to find some specific music buddies,
Can you be a little more specific in that question?
Cladam Blakebert wrote:but in order to do that, I need to talk to guys closer to my age who live in Baton Rouge,
Then how old are you?
Cladam Blakebert wrote: who like more of the artists I can play and who play keyboard or guitar and fnd out what they have tried, and kindly discuss their experience so I can find out if the place is appropriate for what I'm looking for.huh? what artists? "tried" as in what? How will they know if you are appropriate?
Cladam Blakebert wrote: How do I get more responses from those guys? You ask them more very specific questions.
Cladam Blakebert wrote:don't deal with trolls unless you have something on them to get them banned. Other wise how to deal with trolls... DON"T!
Also on a side note, it would also be helpful to know how to deal with trolls, and people who might be handling a misssunderstanding wrong.
If you run into a missunderstanding then YOU were not specific enough.
Now lets start again.
Ask a question and be VERY SPECIFIC.
"If you can't stand behind our troops, stand in front of them." "The West was not won with a registered gun."
"No law ever prevented a crime."

Here's some of the music I'm into:

Now, try to figure out why this would be inappropriate to bring up in a church environment.

"The simple truth is you will have to use your computer some and get off your computer a lot and actively seek where the musicians are."
I would be doing the latter, but I need to talk to guys who are around my age and live in Baton Rouge and who are into more of the music I enjoy (see some of the above examples) and see what venues, music schools and whatnot they've tried, and talk to them about their experience there, and see if I can find someone to become good friends with who would be interested in taking me to check out the specific place. If I knew some of them by name on here, I'd look them up, but I don't know anybody.
And again, I'm not looking for some magical place. That is just plain stupid. I'm trying to find something promising, because in the past, I've tried quite a few places (Baton Rouge Community College, Bethany, Healing Place, Zeagler and Guitar Center) where I didn't have much luck finding what I'm looking for.

Why ask the question if you don't listen to the answers?

I HEARD the answers, but please, try to use common sense when you respond. Take the hint when I say that I need help connecting with guys in Baton Rouge who like more of the music I like and find out what they've tried and found success, rather than posting the general ideas I've been trying to do since 2007, but am unable to try because I don't know what's out there in my area and what the more appropriate places are.
And also try not to respond when you are rushing to get something else done or if you are angry. Be patient with me and ask questions if you are confused about something I said. That's how arguements happen over the internet.
I didn't say you didn't hear, I said you don't listen

"Heard" "listen" "comprehend". Whatever word you want to use, I did all of that. However, the people who are talking to me, are NOT comprehending me and taking the hint. The people who are currently talking to me CANNOT provide the help I need because they don't live in Baton Rouge.
The places I've been currently trying are NOT working and I need to talk to other guys around my age in Baton Rouge, Louisiana who like more of the music I enjoy and discover some new venues and music stores that I can try.
Now, please, give that person a chance to respond.

No, "listen" means you heard what someone said, accepted it, and incorporated it. You just dismiss every post when someone tries to answer. I find it hard that in a city of 200,000+ people, you can't find anybody to play basic 3 chord pop songs. And calling Madonna "controversial" makes no sense at all. The way you're moaning, I thought you were trying to play 12-tone free form jazz, or experimental noise or something. Adam Lambert is pretty basic.
